He took a short notice fight against arguably the greatest mma fighter. It's ok.

Not that it matters with him retiring (assuming he stays retired) but a 1 year ban is a slap on the wrist for this kind of stuff. If he's competing in the Olympics as an athlete he would have just bought himself a lifetime suspension. Till they start really cracking down heavily on cheaters the rewards out weigh the risk for most fighters.
