Chael, someone that never had a title, except for the one he gave himself of course, and didn't do well in this 205 weight class anyway -- I just think it's a weird message that you send to the fans. I know the real reason is because of course The Ultimate Fighter they need ratings -- the ratings are really bad. They think if they get Chael on, the ratings will go up. I think that will happen in the first few shows, but I don't know if it's going to be funny every week, so we have to find out. Is it good to hear the same thing [from Chael Sonnen] over and over again? What I want to see is [him] bring in great trainers and make the fighters better. Now I have the feeling it's going to be more of one of those set-up shows in where everybody's going to start talking, trying to mess with each others heads and get great ratings -- although the fight will do good in ratings. I can guarantee you that. So props to Chael, that's one thing he can do -- talk. - Bas Rutten via ESPN

You mad Chael fanboys?

How many fighters said no before Chael said yes?

There is actually a very positive thing in all this BS. It is the fact that Jones will put an epic beating on Sonnen.

Not that I'm saying it's legit reasoning, but considering Chael accepted a fight with Jones for the LHW belt, and Jones declined it, I can see how Chael feels (or at least acts) like he's the uncrowned champ. He won it by default.
On a pseudo realted note, I DO feel that any champ who declines a fight should be stripped though.

I strongly disagree. All that would do is lead to lots of paper champs.

I have a feeling that Jones is going to put on one of his most dominant performances against Chael.

Sonnen has the title that Paulo Filho sent him from his fight in WEC. The title that Sonnen didn't win solely because Filho, the champion, weighed in too heavy.
A fucking ridiculous stipulation that must be changed. Even if the bout must be switched to a catchweight, the title should still be on the line.
A champion should not get an out for being unprofessional.
