Anderson Silva: I’d prefer GSP over Jones, it’s an easier fight

“I’m old, guys. I’m getting old. I’m retired. I’m nearly there. I’ve only got another five years. I think [GSP] would be a great challenge for me. I prefer him over Jon Jones. He’s smaller. It’ll be a little bit easier. I’ll be hit less.”

While talking to the media following last Saturday’s dominant win over Stephan Bonnar, the pound-for-pound king, Anderson Silva discussed whats next in super fights.

Is his assessment correct? Is GSP an easier bout than Jon Jones?

Completely agree, everyone talking about the potential super fight in the making...counting Carlos Condit out, Carlos is GSP's biggest challenge by far. I think Carlos has a very good chance at shutting a lot of people up

I really hope we don't see a GSP that comes into a fight not mentally strong.

The guy is fighting a finisher whom trains with people George has. He's coming off a major surgery..And to top it all off its got to be on his head that if he beats Condit then everyone is going to want that AS fight..And I dont think Georges feels as strongly about the AS fight as everyone else around him.

It will be pretty damn sweet if GSP beats him though. If GSP loses well no big deal, he did get TKO'd by Serra already anyway.

I rather see Jones vs Silva but I can't complain if this fight actually happens...

Dana White says yes, Anderson Silva will challenge Georges St. Pierre following UFC 154 | UFC News MMA News | Mixed Martial Arts | UFC News | BJPenn | MMA Fight | UFC Fights

Here is exactly what the UFC President had to say:

“There’s no doubt Anderson Silva (is) showing up to cheer Georges St-Pierre on, and he wants him to win this fight. He wants to fight him after. So I would say yes (he will challenge him in the cage).”
In other words...FUCK GSP!

Weidman should stand in front of the cage gate blocking anderson's way in to challenge GSP. Now that would be poetic.

Dana should tell him that he only gets to fight GSP if he fights Jones first.
