What? What is your definition of "outstruck"? Machida landed nearly twice as many significant strikes as Rampage throughout the fight AND he rocked Rampage in the last round. Most people I know agree that Machida won that fight. People still had a bad taste in their mouth about the Shogun fights and were harboring ill will towards Machida at the time, as if one bad decision makes up for another.

I thought the first two rounds were very close but obviously the 3rd round was all Machida. Going back to the first two rounds Rampage was stalking him the entire time, Meanwhile Machida landed very little and let Rampage pressure him. I don't think it was a total robbery, it could have gone either way. Point being Dan can win this fight doing what Rampage or Shogun did.

Most people I know agree that this forum is full of Machida nuthuggers. He lost twice against Shogun and against Rampage. Get over yourself.

Most will agree he lost the first Shogun fight, but the Page fight could have gone either way. Saying it was some kind of definitive win for Page is just not being objective. Haters are just the same as nuthuggers.

It could have went either way. A lot of people had it a draw. I just like to jump on people who think that Machida landing a couple punches in round 3 automatically gives him the first 2 rounds.

The only round you can arguably give Rampage is round 2, and that is due to the takedown (I had that round a draw). Everyone agrees that round three was all Machida. But I don't see how anyone can make the case that Rampage won that first round. People confuse aggression with effective aggression. Standing in front of someone while getting hit should not win you rounds.

But you know what? I realize there is no point in explaining any of this to you. You are still pretty ignorant when it comes to this sport. Stick with it, we'll make a fan out of you yet.

Machida was tentative... and didnt turn it on until the 3rd round... Rampage won the first 2 based on control and aggression, as stated in the rules...

There are few fighters I like more than Rampage, Machida being one of them... I still say rampage won that fight.... is he the better fighter? no.

score the fight round by round... Machida won round 3... clearly, but was it a 10-8? No.... Score the fight, dont just look at it as a whole.

hit with what?

and again, you are going off how the judges are told to score it... I can see how anybody would like to interpret it themselves, but how can you be surprised by scoring like that.

I agree with this assessment. I too had page 2 rounds to machida's 1. Now the only round where anything happened was the third. In the third machida nearly put page away. I felt like had it been a five rounder lyoto would've had him. But alas it was only three and fights are judged per round so page took it 2 to 1.
