| After win, Kim wants rematch with Maia After win, Kim wants rematch with Maia Quote:
In his post-fight interview with FUEL TV, Kim was asked if he has anyone in mind for his next opponent. After all, UFC Matchmaker Joe Silva is a big fan of fighters helping him with his job by simply speaking their minds and calling out prospective foes.
Kim didn't disappoint. His answer was short but sweet.
"Demian Maia."

Maia would beat him again in a rematch.

I'm all for this potential rematch. I was thinking about it while watching Stun Gun dominate Paulo. Paulo.

I think Maia would win in the rematch as well. With any luck, it would be more competitive than the first though

I think Kim did enough to show that he has good enough grappling to earn a rematch down the line. One more win for each guy maybe

I wouldn't mind this rematch, but I still would rather see Maia vs. Fitch. Couldn't believe how easily the donger handled paulo.

However, unless Kim beats someone before this match to put himself a fight away from a title fight, what does Maia have to gain from fighting him now? If Maia wins, he is no better off than before the fight, and if he loses, he gets pushed down the ladder in terms of title fight.

His cardio has improved, his stand up looks a lot sharper, and his overall grappling game has improved tons.
I personally would love to see a rematch, Maia's wrestling has looked to improve a lot as well. I think both guys have re-focused their efforts on their grappling roots, and I would like to see what each guy can do. Of course it might turn into a lame kickboxing match, but I think at least Maia has learned that he's just not a kickboxer.

Grappler vs grappler matches typically turn into lame kickboxing matches with little action
