Ring takes ill, fight tonight canceled from PPV

Calgary's favorite MMA fighter Nick Ring is off tonight's PPV after battling some type of a virus and the Quebec Athletic Commission physiciain would not clear him to face Costa Philippou tonight.

Changes in the show are that the Mark Bocek vs. Rafael dos Anjos fight will now be on the PPV. The Antonio Carvalho vs. Rodrigo Damm fight that was scheduled on Facebook has been moved to the FX show as its replacement.

Philippou will get his fight guarantee money and UFC will attempt to book him in a fight as soon as possible.

It would suck the big one to go through 6 weeks of hard training, paying everybody and still maintaining the bills, only to get sick days/hours before the fight.

I was actually looking forward to this fight, hopefully both get back in the cage asap. And I wonder who they'll give Costa next...wheres Chris Leben at nowadays?

That fight has fireworks written all over it.

Just give in, it's a lot easier, resistance is futile!

Great to see that Bocek fight gets main card! Hopefully he gets paid a bit more and hopefully Costa and Ring get their show money at least. They put in the work, made weight, they deserve it.

Leban is slated for the Fuel show on the JDS/Cain Prelims in December against Vemola at the moment.
