Dan Henderson and former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida appear to have a set date, as the two contenders will collide at UFC 157. The card takes place February 23 from Anaheim. The Brazilian news source Tatame reported the fight on Monday.

Initial reports had Henderson-Machida going down earlier in the month at UFC 156: Aldo Vs. Edgar. The card appears to have its main bouts, though, leaving the two 205-pound fighters for later in the month.

Should be an awesome fight. I wish Hendo would be able to retain his title shot, but this should be a good way to see if Hendo was able to bounce back from the injury before fighting for the belt.

I'll be rooting for Hendo all the way.

Probably for the best since it gives Hendo more time to properly rehab his busted knee, however I can't help but feel that at the end of the day, we're going to see a really muddled LHW top contendership race in the aftermath of Goose/Shogun and among the three fighters on the upswing in Glover/Rampage, Evans/Lil Nog and Davis/Forrest, if somehow Hendo/Machida isn't exactly decisive. ESPECIALLY since Jones isn't even fighting until April....

I can see this. The fight was supose to be scheduled months and months ago, and now other LHWs are fighting and winning while these two are sitting on the sidelines. What if (god forbid) one gets injured after this fight?

They wouldnt fight Jones untill August or much longer, and during that whole time other LHWs will be consistantly fighting and winning.

I think this is going to be a brilliant fight too. But its a no brainer for me, I'm rooting for Hendo to win.

i still think its a big ruse, my opinion chael will get "hurt" and they will jut slide dan back into the title shot with jones. i wouldnt put it past UFC to pay chael to sit out... i mean get "hurt"
