If the fighter is unable to continue due to his opponent throwing an illegal strike than it is a dq. It is as simple as that. If one knee to a downed apponent knocks him out its a dq not a nc so I don't see why Sakara=excitement is making an issue about the number of illegal strikes thrown or about warnings. Guys know the rules way before they get into the octagon, warnings are for minot offences like grabbing the fence. Like I said if one illegal knee ko's a guy when is a ref supposed to issue that warning?

Erick Silva got a DQ for a similar situation. It seems to be the standard practice now for fighters to be DQ'ed if they commit fouls trying to end a fight. Fighters should know the rules, and it should be common knowledge that if you try to finish a fight with hammerfists to the back of a guys head you will get DQ'ed. What's wrong with that, making fighters fight fair?

I agree with Mizjitszou on not sure what he said. My thought is due to Cote was on queer street before the punches in question a No Contest be issuied. None of this needed to get this far poor job refing. Dan should of been louder even intervien by the second ileagal blow, as this was the deciding part of the fight. Hopefully they both get to rematch and it should draw great ratings too.

Hey RJ, just noticed something. If you watch you .gif real close, more specifically Dan's face, even more specifically his lips as he enters the frame, you can see him saying "watch" ("the back of the head")? If you can read lips, like me lol. (im pretty awesome)

Maybe Dan should have yelled it in Italian...
