Against people with really good top games like GSP it's just not enough, you need to be able to stuff shots to wear your opponent down faster.
Silva/Sonnen is the perfect example. First fight, Silva barely wins because he has a good guard, but it was pretty lucky. Second fight, once he stuffs a few consecutive takedowns Sonnen has nothing for him.

I'm curious, did anyone see Condits face after the fight? Looked a lot worse than GSPs.

The guy does almost nothing from guard, he doesnt even throw elbows from it anymore.
GSP's face looked WAY worse after the fight when he started to swell up. Some peoples faces do that more than others and has nothing to do with who won the fight. Black fighters never look like that, I guess GSP should get a spray on tan so people don't think he lost...

It didnt look that way to me... but I wouldnt be shocked if the damage given was closer than most people realize... GSP doesnt really have devastating GNP. Quote:

Some guys just have a talent for something like Muay Thai or BJJ, while they have a shorter ceiling with their wrestling abilities. Quote:
