Well here we have it again folks GSP wants to fight Silva for the umpteenth time. Now all we need is for both GSP and Silva to get the memo that neither one of them signs their own paychecks and will be fighting when the UFC tells them to.

Or they can always fight at Bellator.

This fight makes no sense for GSP whatsoever. I hope it never happens.

Yeah, because the UFC wants to alienate their biggest PPV draw / cash cow, and Anderson Silva.

What leverage does the UFC have in this situation? Money? Both guys are already filthy rich.

Is the UFC gonna fire either one of them for not fighting outside of their weight class?

Come on man, with these two guys essentially being the face of the UFC, Jon Jones and Dana White notwithstanding, the UFC doesn't get to tell these guys what to do.

If they don't want to sign on the dotted line, shit doesn't go down; it's as simple as that.

In between fights, I don't think that's unheard of.

Rehydrated, He generally fights around 205 after weigh-ins for MW, that's after a camp that is specifically geared to help him shed the excess weight he gains off season. He's not like Georges, he doesn't stay in shape year round, and he loves shitty fast food.

A 20-30lb net gain for a fighter who intakes the same-if-not-more-calories once they stop extensive/intensive workouts isn't a big stretch of the imagination, by any means. Rampage has admitted getting to the ugly side of 250 between bouts.

What world are you living in bro? They both are employeed by the UFC and are under contract. They can either play ball or break their contract but ultimately they would be doing more harm to their own careers than to the UFC. If both of them were to walk out right now the UFC would simply move on and the hype machine would simply find and market the next big thing (if not refocusing on JJ).

Dana White had no problems with threating to cut Anderson Silva after his fight with Maia. The UFC doesnt care about big names. They have a history of cutting guys after consecutive losses.

No single employee is bigger than the UFC. Silva I think understands this which is why he often says its not his decision its Danas (he is right).

He might not be quite the wrestler that Sonnen is but he is pretty dam good. I can see him taking Anderson down and holding him there. GSP had a tough time against Condits constant movement on the bottom.

The main reason I want to see this fight is cause I want to see both fighters tested instead of coasting.

Technique is more important than size and power until all things are equal. Two guys with equal technique....the bigger, stronger guy has a big advantage.

Ed Soares even said he thought Anderson was too big for GSP and said that his weight is like 220-230, something like that. I'll try to find the video later and post it.

This to me sounds like GSP might want the fight in like a year maybe two and fight Anderson, then retire win or lose.

The weight differences that GSP listed aren't really representative of the actual disparities in weight. The reason GSP is around 188, is because he is always in shape. He doesn't take time off from training and eat everything under the sun like Silva or Rampage does. Silva may be at 234, but thats before he goes back to the gym after a few months.

Neither will have the option. They are fighting in 2013 as scheduled LOL. The UFC doesn't want ot risk either GSP getting KTFO by Hendricks or Silva getting smotherfucked by a wrestler and losing by way of UD before the fight happens.

This superfight is not without a sense of urgency for the UFC as well as their target audience (casual fans).

If they don't do this fight now on their 2nd opportunity around I will lose any interest in wanting to see it later especially if either of the two lose. The winning streak by these two makes this fight special.
