| Larkin bitter over 'p@$$% era' Rockhold Larkin bitter over 'p@$$% era' Rockhold Quote:
Lorenz Larkin was scheduled to challenge Luke Rockhold for his Strikeforce Middleweight championship on Nov 3. An injury to Rockhold's wrist forced him off the card; shortly thereafter the entire card was scrapped.
The title fight was rescheduled to the Strikeforce Finale in Jan 12. Had Larkin won the title, it would it one sense immediately be gone, but in another sense it would remain in perpetuity. Further, being the champion would presumably help in negotiations with the UFC. However, Larkin will never get the title shot.
Now the same wrist injury failed to heal sufficiently, and has once again forced Rockhold off the card, and with it any chance of a Strikeforce title for Larkin, who reacted bitterly.
"@danawhite hey Dana I hurt my right pinky toe guess I can't fight" tweeted Larkin. "Wish I started two years before I did so I could have skipped this pussy era."

The injury might be legit but who knows. You have to wonder if all these Strikeforce guys are saving themselves for the UFC? I can understand why Larkin would be mad. This would be a huge chance for him. Granted I dont think Larkin would win.

Honestly, I somewhat get what he's saying here, but the matchup itself was beyond ridiculous to begin with, there's just such a massive disparity between the "big three" at MW in SF with Rockhold/Jacare/Kennedy and the rest of their MW roster(Lawler, Larkin, Amagov, Sayers etc)and Larkin should be counting his lucky stars that he doesn't have to fight Rockhold, who would walk up his ass with ease.
I like Larkin, but Rockhold is onto bigger and better fights and at this point, Larkin is just a fighter trying to make his nut, but isn't a true true challenger.

I doubt Rockhold is ducking Larkin. A payday is a payday.

Luke Rockhold blasts back at challenger Lorenz Larkin: 'In my mind, that fight's easy money' - MMA Fighting Quote:
"I would never duck anybody in the whole world," he said. "Trust me, I'm not scared to fight anybody. The fact is, I can’t train. I haven't been able to train for this fight and I'm not going to fight people one-handed."
Quote:
"I’d fight Lorenz Larkin any day, trust me," he said. "In my mind, that’s easy money. I want to fight … I'm not trying to push my way into UFC like this. I want money. I'm watching my bank account go down, and I want to build it back up, so as soon as I can, I want to start fighting."
Quote:
"It does piss me off," he said. "You're saying I’m mentally weak or something like that? When I have ever shown signs of mental weakness in any of my fights? He might be 13-0 but we all heard him crying in his fight against [King] Mo [Lawal] the fight before last. I heard moans and cries. There's no point in coming at me, telling me I'm mentally weak and I'm reluctant to fight you. The guy needs to know his place. I think I’ve proved myself over the years. I'm ready to throw down with anybody."
Quote:
"Right now I’m kind of high on Lorenz Larkin," he said. "Smash him, shut his mouth. I'd love to silence that and get that behind me. That'd be nice, otherwise any top five opponent. I'd like to fight any of those guys. I think I could do really well."
