I had serious doubts whether Thiago would be clean,” revealed Nedkov in an interview with TATAME, showing an obvious lack of surprise about Silva getting popped.

Nedkov also explained he has no problem with marijuana being labeled as a performance enhancing drug despite the protests of many in the MMA community about it’s actual effects in relation to giving users a competitive edge.

“I consulted some specialists they told me that marijuana increases the adrenaline in the body, and also expands the lungs and increases the flow of oxygen muscles, which helps in the resistance. This, in addition to hiding the use of anabolic steroids, which have greater punishment than marijuana,” explained Nedkov, alluding to Silva’s history with steroids.

While the UFC’s decision to suspend Silva for six months and change the bout’s result to a No Contest were welcome punishments, the Bulgarian brawler still isn’t happy about the situation because he ultimately didn’t come away with a victory. However, he plans to use the experience to improve in certain areas, finding the silver lining around an otherwise dark cloud.

“Although he used banned substances, I learned a lesson and will not let (the same mistakes) happen again in my next fight,” said Nedkov. “This fight will make me a better fighter.”

Getting submitted by a "pothead" in the last round of a fight is bad enough but, using marijuana as the excuse for why you lost is hilarious.

I am not a doctor but I am just gonna go ahead right now and say that this quote below is even dumber than the great cumtrap debate of 2012.

I was listening to an old Joe Rogan podcast the other day and I found it interesting that he thought of Marijuana as a performance enhancer. He said that him and Eddie Bravo always roll high because they are much more creative with positions and escapes.

I just thought that was interesting because the few times i've smoked all I wanted to do was sleep lol

To be fair, Joe Rogan includes the use of drugs in every single activity that he is involved in.

Just "rolling" and fighting competitively for a living where someone is trying to take your head off, are two different things.

The only way I can see pot actually helping a performance is in calming nerves. I don;t know how often that would be a big help, but if it was a situation where you were a bit psyched out beforehand, a few light hits might be of assistance. Also, it is a painkiller.

Any good that could come of it though, would only happen when you are actually high. And it might just get your ass kicked as well. I look at it more of a business drug policy rather than a PED policy. You want to work here, don't get high. Priorities.

The painkiller argument is one that Kizer has pointed to a few times. So is there a way to test for recent activity or do all marijuana tests look at the metabolites that stick around for as much as 30 days?

its just a little mj whats the big deal? thiago cant seem to catch a break, even if those false and ridiculous claims were true he only had metobolites not even real stuff at the time of the fight, he's not being cut over this is he?

Try 3 months, sometimes even longer.
