| Ben Henderson responds to criticism about not finishing fights Ben Henderson responds to criticism about not finishing fights Quote:
He said as much at yesterday's (Nov. 27, 2012) UFC on FOX 5 media conference call: Quote: |
"I think the first two Frankie fights, the first one was close and everyone was hoping the second wouldn't be as close and would be more decisive but, sadly the second one was even closer than the first one. It is what it is. But, as far as me facing Nate, and how I gotta win against Nate, I'm just trying to get the 'W.' I'm trying to get my hand raised however I can get it. If he slips on a banana peel, I'll take it. If it's a decisive victory, I'll take it even closer, razor thin decision, even closer than the second Frankie fight, I'll take that too. Getting the 'W' is not easy to come by in the UFC going against the best guys, literally, on the planet. I'll take it any way I can get it. That being said, all the fighters on the line, we all fight to end fights and to have to be as decisive as possible. But, sometimes, when you're fighting the best guys on the planet, you can't make it as easy as that. You can't make it a decisive bout because the guys your fighting it's almost offensive to say, 'Oh, yeah, I'm going to go in there and I'm going to knock out Nate Diaz, no problem.' No, I'm not going to say that. Nate Diaz is tough, he's darn tough and I'll try to get my hand raised anyway possible."

I don't see Diaz giving him too much of a problem.

This overused line of questioning involving not finishing fights needs to be eliminated.
I hear nothing I want to hear out of pressers -- it's all hack journalism and generic questions.

Ben Henderson always brings it and goes for risky moves in an effort to finish. The same cant be said for other more popular fighters. It's certainly not for a lack of trying.

I sometimes think these journalists sometimes just troll forums to see what the latest complaint is and then bring them up themselves. Only a few of them are really interested in MMA. Just my opinion.

Bendo is the man. He is one of only two of my favorite fighters that have won a UFC belt.

Take this any way you will but Benson Henderson has never been in a boring fight and I could care less if it is finished or not as long as it is his typical great pace, energetic all heart fight.
Between Bendo and Diego Sanchez which are two of my favorite fighters I have never been disappointed in watching them and do so gladly every single time. You cannot finish every guy put in front of you, and when you are facing the champ you are facing him for a reason and he is likely not that easy to put away.
This fight with Nate should be very entertaining but I just do not see Nate getting a submission and I do not think Nate can keep it on the feet the whole time so I see Bendo getting a decision in a good fight.
