Some people just don't understand what a big difference facing a guy 10 lbs heavier than you makes when you guys are both in peak physical condition. That is 10 more lbs you have to move, while 10 less lbs your opponent has to deal with. That is a 20 lbs swing.
Why doesn't Anderson call out Jones instead? He's fought at 205 numerous times.
I don't buy the whole "friends" and "respect" thing. Anderson and GSP have been in the UFC a long time now, and GSP is one of the nicest, humblest, most respectful guys in this sport. You're telling me Anderson won't fight Jones out of respect and friendship, but has no problem taking on GSP?
I'm not saying he is a coward, but his reasoning seems like complete bullshit.

Silva has already himself said that GSP is the easier fight when he also said he didn't want to fight Jones.

I'm a big Silva fan and I think the dude is full of crap. He knows he'd have a chance of getting whooped by Bones so would rather be the bully and fight the smaller guy. So much respect lost for that seriously. Man up and show some heart. Come to think of it (I don't know his history that well) has he ever had to show heart in a fight or was he a straight up butt whipper the entire time? I know about the losses I just mean a good hard fought fight.

He has a 2 wins at WW both against Hughes and that's it. The first win when Hughes was in his prime was impressive the second not so much. He's 2-5-1 fighting outside of LW.
I would really call his fight with Fedor as a true outside his weight class fight. I won't into to much opinion on it but wasn't overly impressed with that whole fight.

Silva is a great fighter with no heart. Lets not forget the mw is way more interesting now than its ever been. Its disrespectful imo to be talking about a smaller fighter when you have hungry guys lining up for ashot at your title.
Anderson Silva may be the toughest coward on the planet, but he's still a coward.

At some level I knew that, but it's not how I think of him. It was really jarring and, for me, shows how much our bias (I'm a BJ fan) can color things.

It's eerily similar to Chuck's final years, without the horrendous KO finishes.
I hope he drops back to lw after the R-Mac fight, whatever the outcome.
