Good call by GSP. Dana said he's willing to open his cheque book to make this fight happen, so if I was GSP I would see how serious he is. I'm sure he won't get $50 mil, but that's a good place to start his negotiation and maybe they settle in the $20-30 mil range.
I personally think this fight is going to happen, and everything that is going on now is just posturing by GSP. There's too much money and too much legacy at stake to not make this fight happen. And as Dana says, when the fans want to see something, the UFC will make it happen.

I was actually thinking about this sort of thing today. When boxing does a super fight, or the 2 top guys fight (Money & Packman), they get 10's of millions. Why not in MMA, for a fight exactly like this. If this is true, I don't blame GSP one bit. In fact, I think he'd be crazy not to demand a huge pay day.

This stuff is almost always bullshit. Remember when Hendo wanted 100 million or whatever it was?

GSP doesn't want this fight. GSP doesn't need this fight. That's the number to put an end to all of this crap, I hope.
Silva should drop to 170lbs if he wants to fight GSP, or wait until/if GSP ever goes up to 185lbs. End of story.
This whole GSP/Silva thing, for me, is getting old. I am tired of hearing about it, and you can see in GSP's body language that he is tired of it as well.
Silva needs to fight Jones. He's fought at 205 before - it just makes so much more sense. GSP is building his legacy at 170, he doesn't need to interupt that.

Forget "Anderson Silva" money, that is more than Tyson money. That would be the biggest guarantee in the history of combat sports. The UFC would need to sell about double the amount of their best ppv numbers to break even for that fight.
As they say in boxing, if you price yourself out of the fight, it means you aren't interested in the fight.
I, however, wouldn't be surprised to see the fertita's privately (and secretly) finance it for their own eccentric curiosity.

Congratulations, MMA fans. We now have our very own Mayweather/Pacquiao (mythical) Megafight! That will be talked about for a very long time, but probably never take place...
