Hendo asked for a large sum of money or a reduced amount with the stipulation of a rematch with Anderson Silva as history and all of the articles of the past have led me to believe. This was 2009, if I remember correctly right after Henderson landed the big KO on Bisping in what was supposed to be a number 1 contender matchup.
Personally, I think that Dana White was pulling for Bisping to win, as Bisping has:
A. Never had a title shot.
B. Would have exponentially increased the UFC's European exposure.
Anyhow, in that time Ed Soares said anything he could to get out of Hendo/Silva II and that matchup disappeared...

Dan Henderson wanted to be paid commenserate to where he was in his career but he also felt shafted, that is why he was demanding such a large pay increase. I read that it ranged from 400-600k to show on top of an undisclosed PPV%.
