Goose himself said he wasn't waiting.

And he lost to Davis, whos the best wrestler out of those in terms of mma. I think Rashad is better than Davis.. well maybe in some aspects. I dunno, I would like to get a better gauge of where Goose is at.

True. Although after losing to Davis, he has trained with him solely on his wrestling.

Goose vs Rashad is the best match up to see if he's ready for Jones wrestling. Jones will not be able to run back and throw those push kicks to the knee, he will wrestle Goose. Goose tds were nice but it doesn't say much when Shogun has always had terrible tdd.

With that said, Machida would take Goose out if he stands with him. I mean, he was shooting on Shogun lol. Shogun should either retire or go into a boxing camp at least.

If Davis subbed Goose, what do you think Jones will do?

Mousasi/Goose is the fight I want to see. Still not sold on Goose as a top contender and think Machida would utterly ghost him.

My thoughts exactly. If Machida was getting in on Jones in the striking department with a 10inch reach disadvantage, imagine goose with only 2 inches.

I think he should face Rashad, but I think Rashad could beat him if he doesn't connect.

Mousasi would be a great match up but he's so far down the latter at this point imo.

Good performance by Goose... I have no problem seeing him against Jones... but Id rather Dan get his shot first.... If Machida beats Dan, than I would be happy to see Goose get next shot... but were not even sure that fight will happen...

Why not have Goose fight Glover/Rampage winner...

Either way, it should be a while until Jones' next defense after Sonnen... Im betting he'll get another fight.

Machida is a really tough matchup for Dan... Why not milk the injury and ask to get out of that fight... and just get his title shot while he can.

Machida murks anyone at LHW, not named Shogun or Jones... Im guessing the UFC is looking to find more new contenders for Jones... Not to simply see how they stack up with the rest of the division and who is #2...

Landing 1 good punch?

Lyoto did a very good Job of avoiding Jon's attacks and keeping himself from danger, even with the reach of Jones... buts thats hardly getting it on Jones... Jon is the one who dropped him in the 2nd.

He dropped an already wobbled Machida from the elbow on the ground.

He hit Jones more than once, but only stumbled once. Machida dismantled Gus imo.

Dan Henderson Isn't Sure Where Dana White Is Getting the Info But His Knee is Just Fine | MMAWeekly.com

Quote:
On Saturday night at UFC on Fox 5, UFC President Dana White hinted that former top contender Dan Henderson‘s knee wasn’t healing as fast as expected and he could potentially be out of his upcoming bout against Lyoto Machida currently scheduled for UFC 157 in February.

The subject was broached because White thought UFC on Fox 5 winner Alexander Gustafsson could potentially step in to replace him and face Machida.

Well, Dan Henderson obviously saw that statement and he’s not sure where the UFC President is getting his updates from, but his knee is right on schedule for the February fight card.

Quote:
“Not sure where Dana White thinks he’s hearing my knee isn’t doing okay,” Henderson wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “It’s doing great. Slowly picking training up just like I do for every training camp.”
Henderson hasn’t fought since 2011 when he defeated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in his return to the UFC after a stint in Strikeforce where he became light heavyweight champion.

He was expected to face UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 151 before the afore mentioned knee injury forced him off the card.

Now getting back into training, Henderson is confident he’ll be ready to face Lyoto Machida on Feb 23 in Anaheim, and Alexander Gustafsson can wait on the call for another fight to come along instead.
