I didn't care if he did the Ali Shuffle or not, it just looked awkward when he did it because it doesn't fit his personality at all.

I think he will dominate Carlos the next time around. Rory was in his 2nd fight against Carlos and was winning for 2.5 rounds, until he got beaten down at the end. Carlos' fighting style is pretty much the same now as when he fought against Rory, but Rory has improved a lot, especially in his stand up. Although we didn't see it against BJ Penn, let's not forget that Rory's bread and butter is his devastating GnP. That's where he shines the most.

Against Kos, I think Rory will go for the takedown.

If I ever get in any legal trouble remind me to look you up as my personal defense attorney. You got skills Brew however in this case I don't think you could rescue him out of a wet paper bag.

I love the aroma. The cubans I got from Cozumel I only smoke on holidays. The heavenly chocolate cigars that come 25 to a box for 50 I smoke on special occassions as well.

When I need something fast and aromatic to burn Black N Milds do it for me.

His entire game is good... His standup, wrestling, ground, transitions, etc... but is he great at any one aspect? Not in my mind...

People are taking too much from that fight against Penn. The size difference was massive. It was in comparison to Rumble vs Yoshida. Like a MW against a LW. The reach was 76.5" to 70". Rory probably outweighed Penn by 20lbs fight time. Rory struggled at times taking Penn down, and was taken down too.

Yes, he dominated the standup. But Penn's gave up too much reach and power. Penn's punches are made to KO LW, not massive WW.

Rory has been very dominating thus far in his UFC career, but before Penn, his best WW win was Mike Pyle, and the biggest name he beat was a LW in Nate Diaz. He has not been tested against anyone in the top 15 of the WW class as of yet.

As Rampage stated, he wont have it easy against top wrestlers like Kos, Fitch, Hendricks, Ellenburger, Heiron and against strikers like Kampmann, Alves, Condit, Diaz. All these guys can humble him or even lose to him, but either way, he will be tested against some of the better guys in the division.

Good post, it really does put it into perspective. He's definitely got a lot of talent, but he still has a long way to go.

Ya, watching some geeky guy try to Ali shuffle was just wrong. Also, guys like the Diaz's and Ali used the showboating as psychological warfare.

Great example is when Bendo and Diaz were in a ground exchange, Diaz was not in a great position, and he just gives Bendo the finger. And Bendo just lets him up. It was pretty crazy for me, that a guy would give up a good position just because someone gave him the finger. But those kind of guys can get in someones head.

Rory started showboating at the end of the fight while he coasted to victory, and pretty much went on cruise control the whole 3rd round. Was really anti-climactic.
