| Alexander Gustafsson Critical Of His Victory Over Shogun Rua Alexander Gustafsson Critical Of His Victory Over Shogun Rua Quote:
"I have mixed feelings," said Gustafsson, on the Fuel TV post-fight show. "I'm a striker and an MMA fighter. My hands weren't there. It was a good fight. I was prepared for the toughest guy and got that in 'Shogun.' He brought everything to the table."
Gustafsson did say that he believes he is ready for a match with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones or Chael Sonnen. The two meet in April following their stint as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter.
"I want to fight for the title," Gustafsson said. "I'll take the fight the UFC gives me - either Jon Jones or Chael Sonnen."

No need to be critical. He just knocked out Shogun in the second... oh wait.
Does anyone think he poses a real threat to Jones?

Dude better be glad he has a great chin...
Some of the OH rights Shogun landed were pretty loud, figured they'd affect goose more.
Can't believe none of the judges gave Shogun the first. I thought he landed the more powerful strikes that round.

Does anyone think he poses a real threat to Jones? | His takedown defense hasn't really been tested since he fought Phil Davis so I think even if Jones has troubles in the stand up with him he can fall back to that and grind him down.
So no not really

Jones would brutalize Goose. Also, why didn't Shogun try to utilize any leg kicks? Clearly he didn't mind being on the ground since he was eager to go for knee bars; so he wasn't fearing the takedown. He was already at a reach/height disadvantage, why would he not utilize on of his biggest assets in leg kicks?

He needs to go back to Cordeiro imo.

Even though they are the same height, Jones still has a huge reach advantage over Goose.
