Where are you getting this information from that he isn't defending his title? Did the UFC recently tell him he had to defend his title and if so did he refuse?

I have posted an article multiple times to you that Silva said publicly that he doesn't want to fight Weidman because he is a young lion and Silva is an old man.

So your saying the UFC doesn't want him to defend his title if that was what he wanted to do? He's asking for a fight against someone who doesn't want it who has relevant challengers within his own division.

At his current rate it will take him over 5 years to even fulfill a 10 fight contract and that's if he stays healthy and doesn't sign on to do anymore direct to dvd movies. I don't see it happening

10 fights. That's at least another 5 years at the rate he fights. That's 5 years of him bitching and complaining. Not defending his title for one of those years... That is of course, unless Wiedman finally gets his hands on him. It'll probably take 4 years for that to happen but Silva will retire after he loses.

Ok that is Silva offering his opinion on whom he wants to fight next which was replied to by Dana saying that is status quo. These guys fight whom they are told to fight.

Also Weidman was never offered a title shot by the UFC to Silva. Its no different than Silva and his camp expressing equal disinterest in fighting Sonnen in a rematch yet that had no bearing on the outcome.

Stating who you don't want to fight and refusing to fight an official challenger to the title are two different things.

He's been blowing off the number 1 contender, while trying to chase a "superfight" against a much smaller guy who obviously doesn't want to fight him right now. If he really wanted challenging "superfights", you'd think he'd try to call out Jones instead, once it was apparent Georges wasn't going to fight him now.

You can blame the UFC for not forcing him to defend his title while they try to get him to sign a new contract, but that doesn't change the fact that his last title defense was July 7 and he still currently doesn't have another title-fight lined up.
