I look at Anderson the same way I look at MMA, and particularly zuffa's interpretation of MMA.
Often, I'm amazed, literally stunned, and lucky to be a spectator. But I'm just as infuriated when mismanagement prevents them both from living up to their potential.

WW=170
20 pounds to 15 pounds... dont know how you came to that conclusion... Anderson has fought at below MW many times before coming to the UFC... He fought at 167 and at 175 right before he came to the UFC.
He also says he could make a catchweight for the purposed super fight. Not sure if Jones would be able to do a catchweight. Anderson would have 1.5 inches of reach on GSP, while Jones would have 7 inches on Anderson...
Not sure about Hendo and Vitor being past their primes... Physically sure they are, but your physical prime doesnt always mean that is when you are at your best, especially in a sport as diverse as MMA, where new skills are aquired all the time...
And im not sure if Dan is better than he was when he fought Anderson... The most impressive thing I have seen lately is his chin... Gets dropped by Fedor, recovers and lands a huge uppercut on top.... Gets hit with a right by Feijao, moves forward and lands a bomb. Takes a ton of damage from shogun later in the fight and survives...
He has always had an excellent chin and huge power.... If anything his wrestling has been less impressive as time has gone on... His standup may be better, buts its hard to say. Quote:

And by all means, keep confusing weight classes with actual cageweight, it's a great illustration of your actual understanding of the sport.

rh | Ok buddy...been involved in boxing my whole life.... I dont have a clue about weight cutting...
Cageweight? what are you trying to say. Hell im not going to even argue with you because you'll throw out some random, absurd number that I cannot even refute because the truth is none of us know the exact details... |

Its really cute. The only person more scared of Jon Jones than Anderson is his nut hugging fans.
Anderson has talked ON VIDEO several times about taking the easier fight and thats not including things that Soares has said. GSP and Jones UFC records combined has 2 easy fights, Anderson's career is riddled with garbage fighters surrounded by fights and rematches he ran away from and when you combine this and take into account the MW division being weak for such a long time there is no conclusion I can draw that he is overhyped and nowhere near the best. | We have the details from official sources on GSP and AS its just that nut huggers continuously ignore them.

| I'm saying exactly what I said. It's pretty clear. But lets recap a few highlights from your recent statements on the board: - Fans were only concerned about Anderson and Jones looking for bullshit fights because of racism.
- There has been a longstanding meme on the board about dana positively hating Anderson and trying to get rid of him.
And now these Neil Degrasse Tyson-quality efforts: - The very concept of one fighter cutting more to make his weight class, and thus weighing relatively more after rehydration--often called cageweight--is so absurd it doesn't even bear discussion.
- Because I think Anderson is awesomely skilled, but not as awesomely as you apparently do, I fail to appreciate him appropriately.
In a very literal sense, you make the board dumber by your very presence here. But that's OK, because you're totes going pro next year, brah. Quote:

If you have something intelligent to say, I have yet to hear it. But don't needlessly bait people on the forum simply because they like one fighter or another. If your life is unhappy and you need to find a passive aggressive outlet via the anonymity of the interweb, find another site on which to do it.

I'm definitely not without my own bias as there are definitely fighters I mark out for. Anderson, I would say is not one of them. I have no emotional investment if he wins or loses, I just love watching him fight. Ever since I witnessed his dismantling of Chris Leben in the matter of seconds it took, I've been in complete awe of his skills. It opened the eyes of a TUF Noob to the great world of MMA and all it's possibilities. I feel very privileged that I've been able to continue to witness a truly remarkable martial artist, with heavy emphasis on the word "artist", work his magic. I easily put him up there with the likes of Gretzky and Jordan as the greatest athletes of my lifetime.
Do I wish to see him defend his title more often? Absolutely. Do I wish to see him challenged in a match against Jon Jones? Absolutely. But I respect that perhaps he's earned the right to have an opinion on when, where and who he fights. Maybe it's wrong but I cut him some slack on some of his diva antics because of how special an individual he is.
