GSP has KO power, no question. He just doesn't swing for the fences like some of the brawler-type fighters who eventually end up getting counter-punch KO'd. (Dan Hardy, for example).
People can criticize GSP all they want. Call him boring, laying on guys, whatever. The reality is that other than the losses to Hughes & Serra, the Condit head kick and the 1st BJ Penn fight, no one has even come close to beating him. NOT EVEN CLOSE. It's one thing to criticize someone for not finishing, it's another to try to criticize a dominant champion for not being perfect when fighting only top-5 fighters for the last 5 YEARS.

To say GSP doesn't have KO power isn't criticizing him it simply stating a fact that his record shows. The only KO he has is of himself[ Serra]
A nother great fact nobodys perfect so you don't need to yell at us

He hasn't lost a fight since 2007 and the first time he lost a round since his lose to Serra was against Shields. Do his fights get boring, yes. I'm a GSP fan and there's been a couple of times I've almost nodded off. And all of his title fights have been against the best the division. To say he does not have a fighters mentality is just dumb. If didn't be would have been done a long time ago.

Maybe in the 1st round, but that's about it.

Jake can be losing the fight late in the 3rd round and Hendricks slip and get KO'd Thats not a problem with GSP.
Just because you don't think Hendricks can beat GSP [I don't either} doesn't make what he said false. | wow, I think I had to get to the 2nd page to finally find someone else who actually read more then the title. Hendricks is right in the sense that Jake has more ways to win the fight. However, GSP is def. the harder fight to win.

If he is referring to Jake's power and ability(or willingness) to finish, then I completely agree with him... No one is better at WW than GSP... but that doesnt make him the most dangerous finisher...
Jake is a legit WW, I have him ranked very high.... If he beat Martin... He would not have been far away from a title shot... just as Jonny is now... Its a very Dangerous fight for Hendricks... Both very heavy hitting wrestlers...
Should be a good fight... that card is looking great...
I still want to see Jake rematch Condit... He could have won that fight had he had a better gameplan imo and finished his rounds better... Id also like to see Jake take on Rory.

He has to do something to get a title shot. Winning apparently isn't enough, but running your mouth has proven to be very successful. If I were Hendricks, I'd be trashing GSP every waking moment, and I'd have a recording to play when I was sleeping. If GSP wants to shut up the guy doing the trash talking, I would make sure I was that guy. Every interview I gave would involve things like, "GSP can't take a punch. If Matt Serra's fists can make him tap, mine will make him nap", "GSP has seen me put guys to sleep that he would need a 25 minute game plan to beat. He doesn't want to step into the cage with a guy with my power", and "GSP was so impressed with my performance that he is playing it safe, and asking for a less dangerous fight". Is any of that true? Probably not. Does Hendricks even believe it? Only he knows for sure. Does GSP deserve to hear shit from every contender since he caved to Diaz's garbage? Absolutely! If that's what it takes to get a title shot.
