Man never made it past the random drug test, let alone to the cage, so he really has no room for snarky comments.
JDS did talk a lot of shit about Overeem leading up to this fight with Cain, was it not classy on JDS part too? Overeem is just dishing it right back at JDS.
Reem is going to TKO or KO BigFoot, then he is going to beat Cain while JDS takes on Cormier after he comes to the UFC, its an easy way to promote him with his first fight in the UFC.

The Cain that fought tonight vs. the Overeem that fought Werdum... Overeem would not have a chance in hell.
JDS looked like he was done in the 1st round, and he hung in there for the duration and kept Cain honest. Cain was dead tired at the end, which no one has been able to do to him. Even though JDS loss, he went down in flames and really showed a ton of heart.
Also he was looking great in the beginning of the first round, easily stuffing shots and landing stiff jabs. I think he makes a much more competitive fight if he can find a way to at least keep up with Cain's early pace.
JDS got destroyed? I usually do not disagree with you, but I have to here.
When they first met, I didn't care who won. This time I did want Cain to win just to even it out for a 3rd match. Obvioulsy Cain won. However, JDS destroyed Cain in their first match.......this was a five round beating that one man showed he could take.......he lost....but that he could take and keep on trucking. If anything, JDS showed a Fedor like hunger of keep god damn going. That was fucking brutal.

JDS took far more damage in the second fight than Cain did in the first.
JDS did get destroyed.
A long war inflicts far more damage than a one-punch on the button.
Myles Jury looked great in his fight with MJ, and is going to give a lot of guys a lot of problems in the LW division. His wrestling looked tidy, and his jits was exciting to watch. He has a fantastic transition game, and really had his T's crossed and I's dotted when it came to the ground game.
The Varner/Guillard fight was fantastic too, Varner may never be champion but if he continues fighting the way he has I have no doubt that the UFC will help him maintain a healthy bank balance before he calls it a day.
I was disappointed with the Okami and Leben fights. I'm a big fan of exciting grappling matches, but to me both of these looked on paper just like they did in real life; like grappling clinics with exciting strikers being stifled by powerful top game guys.
On the plus side maybe - just maybe - we could see Belcher/Leben. I wouldn't want to see Brunson/Okami, and imo Brunson's win was dominant but not exciting enough to warrant another main card appearance.
As for Costa/Boetsch, I don't think we can put Tim's loss entirely down to the apparent hand injury he suffered in the first round. By the third round he was really gassing and grasping at straws, and I think that hand injury or no hand injury it would have gone the same way as it did. Costa looked composed in the third and picked his shots, and I can't wait to see him fight again.
Miller and Lauzon... WHAT. A. FIGHT. Miller looked vicious at the start of the fight, and kudos to Lauzon for withstanding it. When Lauzon went back to his corner at the end I thought he was done - he looked overwhelmed and outclassed... Man, I was wrong and I'm glad I was, too!
A well deserved (and hardly surprising) FOTN!
As for the main event... Cain was relentless as ever and to be totally honest I was disappointed with JDS' performance. I'm impressed by his heart and ability to withstand punishment and still work his way back to his feet, but he's going to have to seriously improve his conditioning if he hopes to keep up with Cain in future.
It felt like from the 3rd minute of the first round onwards that JDS was just trying to survive, and was psychologically resigned to the fact that he was unlikely to get the win, and just didn't want to lose his title in dramatic fashion (ie: by KO).
All in all a great event, and I never thought I'd say this but I kind of missed Goldie...
JDS showed is that he has the heart not to give up and a solid chin. He doesn't seem to know what to do though, when things don't lend themselves to head-hunting. He can KO Cain on any given night, but Cain is the better fighter.
He started off early dumping JDS hard on the first TD attempt. Even though JDS stuffed the next few, he knew it was something he had to constantly watch for and this took away from his normal focus on striking. Cain never gave him time to find his range or get his bearings and from there it just went downhill.
Almost nobody can keep up with Cains gas tank, so the fact that JDS was still avoiding takedowns in the 5th shows he has the gas, he just didn't know what to do, and fought rattled for probably a third of the fight. Yeah, he may drop Cain in their next meeting, but Cain IS by far the better fighter imo. He took almost zero damage in 5 wild rounds with JDS.
edit: Also, anyone else think of the elephant man when they saw JDS at the end?
