Costa looked composed in the third and picked his shots, and I can't wait to see him fight again. | That fight can be broken down to before the eye poke and after the eye poke. Tim couldn't see and the fight was restarted. His stand up was sloppy and he started getting tagged so he went for sloppy take downs and even pulled guard. He then got beat down and bled out. I think Tim would take a rematch.

UFC 155 was a solid card, and like any other fight card, had its ups and downs, however I enjoyed it.
First off, the booing from the crowd was despicable. I don't care how boring a fight gets, but booing is not the appropriate response. These casual fans suck, and their dictation of how the fight should go, should not be their responsibility. These guys put in months of hard work, and follow a gameplan to get their win. These are the hardest working athletes, and they dont deserve to be booed. I'm with you MickeyKnox....DIE CASUAL FANS, DIE!
Congrats to Cain. I'm a big fan of his, and although I like JDS, it was awesome to see Cain prove his doubters wrong. He was on JDS like white on rice, and showed he has the heart of a champ. We all know Cain has power in those hands, but we learned that JDS has quite the chin, and the will to keep on fighting and never crumble when he's down. I'm excited to see who both get matched up with next. ONly thing that ruined such a great fight was the booing that shitful crowd gave to the fighters in the end. Shameful that JDS had to address that.
Miller and Lauzon was insane. We all know those guys can deliver. Both are tremendous fighters, and goes to show you that win or lose, you will earn fans and deep pockets for performances like those. My heart raced when Lauzon tried to pull off that Chonan-esque flying scizzor heel hook!
4 MW entered UFC 155 and 4 left with unimpressive performances. Belcher was the worst of the bunch. Kid has got great standup and although Okami smothered him, Belcher didnt capitalize the moments when the fight was standing. He has his reluctance and bad TDD to blame for his loss. I wouldnt call Okami a blanket. He has always been the type to secure position and go for GnP but Belcher's active guard never allowed for any action to pursue. Good win for Okami, and shows he can shut down anyone.
Too bad for Boetch. It was one bad luck after another. Costa looked decent in the fight and it's one of those "what if" fights if Boetch didnt break his hand and didnt get eye poked. I would like to see a rematch, before we all start saying Costa is a top 10 MW.

The overhand right came at the 1:24 mark in the first. Before that point Cain was peppering JDS's face, which was quite red already. Velasquez was pretty much having his way with JDS, who was moving well, before that overhand right was even thrown.
Also, JDS had many opportunities to pounce on some of Cain's failed takedowns, which some left Velasquez prone, but opted to run away to safety. I like JDS, but I respectfully disagree with anyone who says that Cain was "desperate" with those takedowns, because JDS was equally as desperate to get the hell outta Dodge.

I'm curious to see who they give to Lombard next. Will they slowly build him up with strikers such as Cung or Leban, or will they push him up there with a top fiver in Okami? I wonder how the book Okami's next fight, as he can really take the wind out of alot of fighters sails, as he did with Alan last night.
Holloway looked really good, especially on short-notice and Perez and Jury had really good showings as well. Both Cariaso and Moraga showed alot at flyweight and altogether, the prelim card was really promising.

That was a new level of violence that I haven't seen from Jim Miller. That was a very entertaining fight, one of the bloodiest I've seen in along time! Another bonus for Lauzon!
I wasn't overly surprised that Belcher or Boetsch lost their fights but for the sake of the middleweight division I was hoping one of them would have won. Philippou made the most out of his opportunity with a stoppage over Boetsch, interesting to see his progression. He's a tough fight.
Cain was an absolute beast from the opening moments. He just went after JDS with relentless pressure. I was very impressed. I'm not a Cain fan at all, but I'm reading people argue over the adjectives of the fight. Dominated. Destroyed. Who cares? It was an extremely one sided fight. Sure JDS showed some heart, showed that he has a granite chin and showed some TDD but none of that put him in a position to be effectively offensive. He was in defense mode from the get go and the scorecards reflected that. It was Cain's night. I'm a big JDS fan but he has some big questions to answer. Hopefully this will motivate him to raise his game. I would not be surprised if we get the rubber match this time next year.

Cain was the reason JDS' cardio was abhorrent. Stop making excuses for JDS.
It was a great showing for Cain and next time they fight it will be a coin flip just like this one was. We learned there are no absolutes in MMA.
All those that said that JDS would starch Cain in the first again are pretty grumpy today.

Anyone re-watch the Belcher/Okami fight? At the 6 second mark of the 3rd round it looks like Belcher knocked out Okami with that back elbow. It appears that Okami came through pretty quickly, but it looked like he was ko'd for a second.
Any thoughts?
