Default Where do we go from UFC 155?

Who would you like to see matched with last night's fighters ?

I'd like

Cain vs Overeem/Bigfoot winner

JDS vs Overeem/Bigfoot loser or Werdum if he beats not

Miller vs Cerrone/Pettis winner or Maynard ?

Lauzon vs Guillard 2

Okami vs Lombard or Weidman when he comes back maybe

Belcher vs Boestch or Bisping/Vitor loser

Leben vs Vermola I'd still like to see

Brunson vs Palhares or Philipu but that could be boring

Where do we go, where do we go now? Where do we go....
Where do we go? OoOoOo, where do we go now...

Cain v. Overroid

JDS v. Hunt

Miller v Maynard

Lauzon v Cerrone

Okami v Weidman

Belcher v Boestch

Leben v Lombard

Sounds good to me. I'd pay for that card.

Jds vs Hunt is very possible now if he beats Struve. That's an awesome match, forgot about that.

Leben vs Lombard is exciting but doesn't make much sense imho.

Personally I want to see JDS vs Juice Barnett to see how he improves and does against a guy who will be in his grill and wrasslin'.

At this point I no longer want to see JDS fight guys who just stand up in front of him.. we know he will KO most of those types.

Thats what I thought also, but with Todd Duffee, Cain, and DC all in the one division I want to see DC move down and test light heavyweight. We already have one legit contender (Rory Mac) saying he wont fight GSP, I dont wanna see any more divisions getting locked up cos guys train together.

Couple reasons it makes sense:

1.) For fans, styles make fights and this is guaranteed fireworks.

2.) For a business, Lombard was a big investment, with a lot of hype; he's expected to do more than coast thru the mid tier of the MW division. Leben looked rusty and sluggish, but I expect he'll come back looking better in his next fight. Being a household name, Lombard's stock can benefit from beating Leben; despite Leben having just lost by a lopsided unanimous dry hump. Conversely, if Leben comes back and beats Lombard, the UFC can reassess their investment.

You're right though, that in so far as rankings and contention, it doesn't make a lot of sense; but that's never been an issue for the UFC.

It's gotten so bad with the UFC, that actually losing fights earns you a title shot.

Very true, lately ranking doesn't mean shit and Lombard can definitely benefit with name like Leben on his resume if he wins.

I don't like Jds vs Cormier ranking wise but its an interesting fight nonetheless. But if Cormier beats him, it means nothing as long as Cain is champion.

I have a hard time seeing anybody beat the Cain Velazquez that we all saw last night, he was so relentless with his pressure and gnp. Overeem will definitely need to be careful with his knees against Cain.
