I didn't notice it at the time really, but JDS grabbing the cage was worse than the 1 time Aldo did it against Mendez.
Also, does anybody know why Cain is so against taking people's backs? He could have put a hook in multiple times throughout the fight, but he never did. Is he just not confident in his jujitsu game?

He'd be in some shit.

Is he just not confident in his jujitsu game? | It might not be that he is not confident in his BJJ game, he might have a lot of respect for JDS'. Really good BJJ guys will let you get hooks in because they know how to turn into someone's guard. Heath Herring use to do it all the time. Maybe he was worried about just being reversed, without the hooks if JDS starts to stand up he can just drop to a double leg and look for a takedown like he did for most the fight anyway.
Finally, JDS needs to hit the gym and work on his cardio. It is not that his cardio is bad because it isn't, its just Cain beat him with the pace he set. Midway through the first round JDS was already slowing down. Which means slower reaction time and less power in his punches. He has to accept he can not win a five round war with Cain and needs to work on his cardio so he can come back and have the energy to finish Cain within two rounds. If he doesn't then Cain is going to win by decision every time.

JDS has no submission victories in the UFC nor has he been put in dangerous positions on the ground. Cain had no reason to fear his Jujitsu game.
