Default Was Velasquez's UFC 155 Win The Biggest Landslide In UFC Title History?

Was Velasquez's UFC 155 win the biggest landslide in UFC title history? | News

Quote:
It's fairly easy to call Cain Velasquez's win over Junior Dos Santos this past Saturday a dominant performance.

The reality is, Velasquez never really was threatened by the champion at all over 25 minutes en route to reclaiming the title.

Just how dominant was it? It was one of the biggest blowouts in UFC title fight history – and maybe even the biggest. Of course, helping it along the way to that claim is the fact it was the favored champion who was being dominated by the underdog, and it was a heavyweight title fight, in which fans have grown accustomed to seeing fairly quick finishes.

But UFC President Dana White can get on board with the thought that Cain Velasquez (11-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) taking it to Dos Santos (15-2 MMA, 9-1 UFC) as dominantly as he did was history-making type stuff.

Quote:
"The biggest landslide in a title fight? Yeah, maybe," White told MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps) after the post-event news conference for UFC 155 this past Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. "For going five rounds like that, that one sided? Yeah, probably."
There obviously have been other dominant performances in UFC title fights that have gone the distance. So Velasquez is not alone.

Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre had a long run of decision wins in title fights – never having lost a round. His win over Dan Hardy at UFC 111 came with the same scores Velasquez got over Dos Santos – 50-43, 50-44 and 50-45, meaning one judge gave him a 10-8 round, and another judge gave him two 10-8s.

But considering the odds of the fight going beyond four rounds were coming in in the neighborhood of 6-to-1, seeing two heavyweights go 25 minutes like Velasquez and Dos Santos did, and seeing Velasquez look as good right out of the gate as he did makes the scores he got from the judges loom even larger.

Quote:
"I didn't think that thing was going five rounds in a million years," White said. "There's no way I thought that would go five rounds. It was unbelievable. Cain looked insane tonight. It was so good."

I agree, Franklin was BATTERED and disposed of with ease. The fact that he was not only finished, but in devastating fashion makes it an easy choice for me.

Almost all GSP fights are absolutely one sided, Anderson also makes look his oponnents like amateurs. Same thing does Jon Jones.

Aldo vs Faber was quite one sided aswel. Until that fight I did not see Faber getting dominated so bad.

There were points where Tim actually had a "what the hell is going on right now?" Look on his face. Randy controlled him completely

I remember Penn-Sanchez being pretty bad, but I'm kinda fuzzy on it.
