Eh, Siver should beat him handily in a decision, anyways...which would put him a good win away from a title shot imo.

The featherweight division is congested because of Edgar.
So many worthy challengers so few motorcycles to crash.

As long as Korean Zombie is still out, the division still needs to keep moving and I see these two being next in line. It makes sense to me.

Korean Zombie is a good fighter but he will get owned if he is ever in a title fight imo...
Aldo is just extremely talented, and I think Mendes will be the number 2 guy for a while and will take over when Aldo moves up.
Poirier is very good but he's still pretty young. He needs to learn not to be so aggressive all the time imo, it cost him against Zombie and almost did against Brookins.
Koch, Lamas, and Dias all look to be pretty talented but only time will tell how well they do.

I think the Zombie tore his rotators cuff? I believe that is why he has been out for so long.
Siver vs Swanson will be awesome. I hope Swanson can get up from Mini-Lesnar's half guard. It will be a good fight if it stays standing.
I have doubts of Siver's endurance if he ever gets a five round title shot. He paced himself in his last fight, but he was in half guard for an eternity. Someone who can keep him upright and moving will give him problems.
Hope the Zombie returns soon.

Mr. MMA News Poster, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone at this forum site is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

With aldo missing an entire year, a whole list of challengers has emerged. As of now, i would say korean zombie is the unofficial #1 contender, but his last fight was about 8 months ago meaning it would be a year, give or take before he would be able to challenge for the belt so it woukd be in his best interest to take another fight.
Also erik koch was already slated for a shot, but got injured and ricardo lamas defeated the number 2 ranked hatsu hioki so the winner of their fight on fox 6 will be in a good position.
The winner of swanson/siver will indeed be in a very good spot to make a claim for #1 contendership. I'd say moreso siver given his resume at 155 and the fact that cub has already lost to aldo in brutal fashion. If cub manages to stop siver, it'd be his third straight over noteworthy opponents so its conceivable that he could get a shot, but i think he'd need at least one more.
Also if clay guida beats hioki, based on name recognition and his resume at 155, he could easily get a shot with another win over a top featherweight.

Damon Martin just tweeted that Siver is out of this fight and Poirier is in. I'll post something more concrete when it comes.
