“I signed my contract, Frank Mir, you and me, let’s do it,” said Cormier, indicating that he intends to fight April 20 at UFC on Fox 7.

He then has his sights set on light heavyweight.

“I’m gonna let Jon (Jones) defend his belt on April 27 and then I’m gonna kick his ass in the fall.”

"I'm hoping Cormier has a good outing against his opponent, which I can't recall his name right now...which the fact that we all don't know his name very well, I'm assuming that means that he should do well and hopefully come through unscathed so that he can do what he wants, which is come into the UFC and I can be more than happy welcome him."

Mir also said that the fight would be sure to test Cormier's mettle inside the Octagon.

"I think it's an excellent test for him. I think, you know, always be careful what you wish for. I think that his wrestling will definitely be tested in our fight. My submissions have the ability to definitely change outcomes of fights pretty quickly."

You think he would have no shot. An olympic wrestler with the power to ko heavy weights, would have no shot.

32" reach advantage could be problematic for DC.

Guess we shall see wont we? I never said that he didn't have a shot, I just said that I think Jones will absolutely own him. He always has a punchers chance though. His gas tank will be a very big issue I believe, not to mention the reach disparity. I'm not all that concerned about his wrestling either, Jones has proven time and time again that he can hold his own in MMA wrestling, and I'm certain he will bring in Olympic caliber wrestlers to help him train even harder.

I am not saying that DC man handles Jones. I am saying that Jones doesn't autmatically own DC. Bigfoot only had an inch less of a reach then Jones.

I like the idea of DC vs. Jones...

but people forget about Jones' huge heigh/reach advantage he will have just because he would be fighting a HW... DC would give up more in those areas than most if not all of Jones' previous opponents.

DC's elite wrestling, huge power and quickness would give Jones tons of fits... He could be one of the first to be able to get Jones down and stop his takedowns... But at the same time, Jones is a much better wrestler than the guys DC has been facing.

DC is very fast at HW, but Jones is very fast at LHW... Not sure how their speeds would clash.

Jones has his way with DC at range if that fight happens...

We still dont know how good DC's chin is, if he has a granite chin... then I give him a much better chance, because he would have the ability to eat shots while rushing inside.
