Velasquez is coming off his second championship win after gaining revenge on the only fighter to put a loss on his record. That retribution against Junior dos Santos (15-2) came at UFC 155 in December. Santos won the title in their first bout at UFC on FOX 1.

Next month, Alistair Overeem (36-11-1 NC) is set to meet Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (17-4) in a fight that may determine who is the No. 1 contender for the belt. Overeem was going to challenge for the gold at UFC 146, but a random drug test came back with a testosterone level that was over double the permitted level. He was suspended for nine months and recently gained a new fight license through the NSAC.

Fighters can be tested before and after a fight, but the option for random testing is out there. It has never been made public that Velasquez has ever failed any drug test in his six year career.

I just keep thinking about the AO/Werdum fight. AO's a beast when he's fighting guys that are outside of the top 10 and/or move backwards, but I'm not convinced he hangs with Cain at all.

Agree 100% He's not going to want to clinch with Cain or throw many kicks like he does alot of the time imo. He's got a ton of power standing up obviously but once Cain takes him to the ground it's over.

It does not matter if he faces Overeem or Overroid, IMO if he uses the right strategy and avoids his opponent's knees, he is going to win this fight.

He has to be very agressive since the beginning like he did with JDS. If he lets Overeem get comfortable, he is going to get KOd.
