Ronda Rousey says Georges St. Pierre 'lucked out' and if he was 'butt ugly,' he would still be unknown - MMAmania.com

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight kingpin Georges St. Pierre isn't the biggest fan of women's mixed martial arts (MMA).

It's not that he's opposed to it, "Rush" simply says "it's hard to watch girls fighting" because of his "old school" upbringing. His stance drew the ire of two of the best female MMA fighters in the world in Miesha Tate, who called the French-Canadian 'ignorant' and current UFC women's bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, who agreed with her bitter rival.

Contrary to popular belief, however, "Rowdy" doesn't hate GSP, saying he is a "nice guy," he just isn't her type of fighter to watch -- though she does respect him as a "businessman and an athlete," according to comments she made to The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The former Olympic medalist insists it's St. Pierre's lack of finishes that turns her off, comparing him to "point fighters" that "frustrated" her earlier in her career. One of the things Rousey has often had to defend throughout her career is the popular belief that she's receiving special treatment due to her looks, coupled with her fighting skills, of course.

Rousey says that men are usually no different, going so far as to claim that if St. Pierre was "butt ugly," or not a "commendable" Canadian, fans wouldn't really know or care who he was.

While no one can deny St. Pierre's "GQ" looks have made him an attractive target for blue-chip sponsors, you still have to win fights if you want to remain relevant and "Rush" has proven he can do that consistently.

Both Rousey and St. Pierre will defend their titles in consecutive events as Ronda is set to lock horns with Liz Carmouche at the upcoming UFC 157 event on Feb. 23, 2013 in Anaheim, California, while GSP will finally tango with Nick Diaz a few weeks later at UFC 158 on March 16 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Rousey is talking about herself here. She is so lucky that Cyborg is not fighting her, and if she was butt ugly, she would not be in the UFC now.

No Ronda, people give a shit about GSP because he is one of the top 5 fighters of all time, has the second most UFC wins, second most consecutive title defenses and overall title defenses, and has beaten previous champions in BJ, Hughes, Sherk, Condit, Serra. GSP was targetting blue-chip sponsors before any other fighter was even close to doing so. He really opened the doors for a lot of fighters.
