I know I'm ranting a bit but just think promoters shouldn't have direct involvement with the fighters like this.

I wonder if people would be ok with the UFC hiring Dolce to help Cormier with his weight cut to LHW? Or hiring someone to help Aldo or GSP to bulk up so they can move up a division ?
I think it's a special case because Cyborg hasn't worked in a while, and female fighters don't make much money in the first place. If the UFC was willing to pay for Cormier to get professional help to cut weight I don't see why that would be a problem, but I doubt it would happen since he did pretty well for himself recently.

Yes but all fighters have to cut weight. Why make exceptions to help one and not the other. If they are going to do it for one they should be doing it for everyone or no one at all.

If you think of recent trends with UFC giving title fights to those undeserving because it they think it will sell better and now helping a fighter make weight they are starting to get closer to that area of effecting match outcomes.

The UFC messed up by starting the division without any key players or big names. Hense, its understandable for them to try and get their biggest draw into fighting shape. DC doesn't need it. Jones will find others to fight without DC. DC can take Mir, then go to light heavy with out causing Jones to have to wait on him. With Ronda she needs a big name to fight. The divisions can survive without GSP or Aldo if they need time to bulk up or bulk down, the women's needs as much help as it can get.

I understand the reason for doing it just personally don't find them as valid reasons to do so.

I'm so confused when it comes to this new womens division. How many women fighters are even under the ufc's contract? They can't just have random women come in and fight for the title every once and a while. This whole division seems to be made up of just ronda. If this is going to become a real division, other fights are gonna have to take place.. ones with out ronda in them.

I think Zuffa is waiting to see how things go, and then they buy Invicta or start an all female promotion. I can easily see a WEC like scenario for the women's division, I think with the right marketing and the right hungry fighters, the UFC can easily make money with a women's division. They just need to put the time and energy into determining who would be their best market.

Cyborg needs to cut her "walking around" weight down some. If she can get down to 150-155 through diet and exercise, then she only would have 15 to 20 pounds to hard cut. Not easy, but easier than 35-40lbs....I do hope she can make 135, I think Rhonda would shit herself....then after they fight maybe she and Gina can start a buddy cop show or something.......
