| Junior dos Santos divorce was 'personal problem' affecting his performance at UFC 155 Quote:
Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos revealed a divorce from his wife of 10 years was the 'personal problem' he was dealing with ahead of his UFC 155 title fight against Cain Velasquez last December.
You know those pesky personal problems Junior dos Santos cited as one of his reasons for being off his game at UFC 155 last month (Dec. 29, 2012) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada?
It turns out it was a rather huge one.
Aside from his creatine issues, "Cigano" has revealed he's ended his 10-year marriage to his wife. Guilherme Cruz of Tatame has the word via Twitter:
Cigano has ended his marriage of 10 years with Vilsana before the fight with Velasquez. This was his "personal problem."
Dos Santos was on the receiving end of one of the most brutal one-sided title fight beat downs in recent memory courtesy of the newly crowned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez.
Cain dominated the fight from the opening bell, taking down the Brazilian bomber at will and even outclassing him on the feet, sending him crashing him to the canvas early in the first round with a perfectly placed right hand.
Junior went on to survive the early scare, only to be battered and bruised for four more rounds, which earned Cain a clean sweep on the judges' scorecards.
The loss was "Cigano's" first inside the Octagon since making his debut in 2008 and vowed to come back stronger than ever in hopes of getting a rematch, sooner rather than later, against the same man he knocked out in just over a minute in 2011.
While fight fans are quick to dismiss any "excuses" a fighter has to share after a loss --- and not to discredit Cain's outstanding performance, of course --- it's fair to say anyone going through the turmoil of a divorce right before a big fight probably won't have all their ducks in a row, either.

Another excuse? or legit reason to be off your game?

Low Creatine and now this? Its no wonder JDS lost the fight.
Im sure it could have affected his preparation, but its all on him... He is the pro fighter, he has to deal with getting ready with whatever BS is going on around him. Quote:

Damn. I can't help but wonder if his new fame is the reason for the divorce, either by the stresses of new fame and being a fighter hurting his relationship, or by the new booty options that come with new fame... Also with that new booty options comes one of the biggest if not the biggest fault of females which is jealousy.
I can definitely see a divorce making someone off in the cage and in training beforehand. I don't think there needs to be any excuses however, just like fighting against JDS, anyone fighting Cain better be absolute perfection that night or its over.
One thing that I don't get is how I keep seeing how that fight is the most one sided title fight (this article says "in recent history", however I have seen people say one of the most lopsided title fights ever. I don't think people saying that have ever seen an Anderson Silva title fight, or other than vs. Cain 2, a JDS title fight. Remember Mir? Remember Cain 1?
IMO Cain and JDS are the two best HWs in the world, however Reem could come in and prove me wrong but I just don't see it happening. I hate that Reem is fighting Bigfoot, such a waste. A perfect fight sequence to me would be Reem vs. JDS and Cain vs. Werdum then the winners fight.

loopsided to me refers to a fight that WENT THE DISTANCE yet was complete domination.
