He did when he came over from Pride. Hell, his first two fights were title shots.

Overeem was the Strikeforce and Dream HW champion, and he didn't get a title shot right off the bat either.

Neither did Condit when he came over from the WEC.

He didnt get one when he came from SF, He fought top contender in Shogun, and he just KOd Fedor.

I think the SF champs should fight top contenders first before they get auto-title shots.

I think Gilbert is the only one that really deserves one, Luke Rockhold could be an interesting fight for Anderson Silva, he likes interesting matches. "champ vs champ" could appeal to him, but otherwise Luke should fight Wiedman for the "#1 contender spot", as much that's worth in the UFC.......might buy you a free sandwich at the UFC headquarters cafeteria........
