| Joe Lauzon receives grisly gift from UFC in response to recent fight Joe Lauzon receives grisly gift from UFC in response to recent fight - Five Ounces of Pain : Five Ounces of Pain Quote:
UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon is no stranger to receiving extra winnings. After all, the 28-year old is tied with pound-for-pound great Anderson Silva with the most performance-based bonuses in the organization’s history. However, Lauzon’s latest offering in the Octagon scored him more than just Fight of the Night honors and a $65,000 check on top of his regular earnings.
Lauzon recently revealed the UFC had decided to send him the canvas covering the Octagon from his match-up with Jim Miller at UFC 155. As fans undoubtedly remember, the talented 155ers went at it for three full rounds in a bout featuring buckets of blood.
The Massachusetts native confirmed the UFC’s gift by posting a picture of the bloodstained canvas laid out in his gym. Sanitation questions aside, it looks like Lauzon has a trophy he can keep for a long time as memorable as any belt, while up-and-coming fighters under his tutelage will always have a reminder of the price potentially paid in each effort.
| All this time, I thought grisly was spelled with a 'Z'. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

Wonder if they did the same for Bigfoot and Lytle?

I really believe that people like Bill Murray or John Belushi are just as great and just as valid as Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. And I don't think you can say One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) is a better movie than Animal House (1978); they're different genres. I think they're both examples of great craftsmanship.

I know he lost, which sucks, but it's also a reminder of how much warrior spirit Lauzon has. He looked as if he didn't even regard the fact he was bleeding like a stuck pig and still fought to finish.
I really wish Lauzon won that fight with one of the crazy submission attempts he threw at Miller. It would have been insane.
