Here we go again, sitting on the sidelines and running his mouth. I love how Weidman thinks he is some sort of MW prodigy, he's clearly been listening to the media too much. Weidman is one of the lesser accomplished opponents on that list too, when he gets beat by Silva people will quickly lose interest in him.

What names has he beaten? Damian Maia and Munoz.. 2 people. Bravo Weidman. Focus on healing up your shoulder and not running your mouth pl0x

It's really stupid how people say he hasn't fought anyone and only talk about his fights with Cote and Leites. Yes, lets ignore him dethroning a dominant champ in Franklin, unifying the belts against a guy who was probably the best MW ever at the time in Hendo, beating the former champ at a weight class above in Griffin, then a handful of solid contenders like Sonnen, Marquardt, Belfort, and Okami.

I really don't want to see Weidman fight Silva. I never really thought he earned it, but I was OK with it since so many people thought he did. The guy only has a couple fights, and his two "big" wins were against the softest ranked MWs there were, and one of the fights he gassed in an incredibly slow paced fight. Fuck him, I'm sick of him bitching about his title shot while injured.

Silva has excellent technique and deceptive strength. He throws loose; his knockout punches are done in a similar manner.

That kick is the source of many KOs in kickboxing. But, the biggest factor is that Vitor didn't see it coming.

I don't particularly care for Anderson, but with the exception of Lutter, Côté, and Leites, it is a pretty impressive list of competitors.

To chime in with what many others have said before, Weidman has beat one guy that Anderson has beat in Maia and Munoz, so who exactly has he defeated in devastating fashion to deserve a shot?
If Maia isn't impressive for Anderson then Weidman's win against Maia should be bypassed and he should need to earn another win. More importantly he will be coming off a long layoff when he does come back in the summer so by far this guy just needs to hush, heal up, come back and win one and then get his shot.
