This is more about the UFC they control who fights who. So they made this mess and Chris is trying to deal with it, and Andersons antic's don't help.

Personally I would like to see Chris take a nother fight to get him back up to speed and hopefully advance his skills before a Anderson shot.

But if Chris isn't the #1 contender who is?

If I was Joe Silva and/or Dana White, I would have Silva fight Rockhold in a champion vs. champion match up and put Jacare/Belfort against Weidman for the #1 contender spot. Weidman is still one good win away from being actually considered #1 contender. His match with Maia was just awful and one KO win over Munoz does not put him up at #2 in the MW.

And no, I don't think Rockhold is #2 either. Whole MW division is sorta mixed up at the moment with no clear #2 or even a #3 that would deserve an actual shot at the title. Had Bisping won he would have gotten it, but since Bisping got knocked out in a highlight reel fashion (once again) there's really no one I would want to see against Silva. Rockhold has at least the belt from Strikeforce that could be somewhat marketable fight and I guess Andersson would even take that fight. Or just have Silva fight GSP, but I guess GSP is too busy with Diaz and Hendricks for that to actually happen.

I think that's the worst title shot in the history of the UFC, but I tend to think there was probably more to the story then Sonnen talked shit so DW gave him a shot.

The card was cancelled because of how weak it was. They put all their eggs in one basket. Jones and Hendo are both big names and decent draws... they can get away with things like that if everything goes smoothly, but something like a fighter getting injured last mintue isnt inconceivable. and a champion not taking a fight on 8 days notice is the same way.

Also it was very odd how Sonnen was aggressively attacking Jones on twitter/interviews a few weeks before that.

it really made no sense... Some believe that Sonnen was in the know about Henderson's problems... while the UFC and Jones were not.

Chael knows how much Dana likes him and how much he can get out of his talking...

I wish Jones had taken that fight, but if Sonnen had known from 3 weeks and was preparing all that time for Jones it would be very unfair to put Jones at that disadvantage... Even with how much better Jones is, why risk it.

Because turning down a fight against an opponent who is smaller than you, at best only had 3 weeks to prepare for a 5 round fight (while you've had a full camp), is primarily a decision fighter who doesn't really possess the ability to "catch" you with a lucky punch/sub, and is coming off a loss....

... makes you look like a coward.
