A change has been made to the upcoming UFC on Fuel card headed to London with young upstart Gunnar Nelson getting a new opponent.

Nelson was originally slated to face Ohio fighter Justin Edwards, but an injury has forced him to drop off the card.

Now the Icelandic fighter will instead face former middleweight contender turned welterweight Jorge Santiago, as he returns to the UFC after exiting the promotion for two fights

Massive challenge for Nelson, should definately be a measuring stick for him going forward into the top 15 or so WWs.

I'd be very reluctant to count Gunnar out. That guy's a beast.

i don't know what stock to put into santiago in the UFC anymore. i didn't think stann had a chance against him. this all on top of nelson being a largely unknown quantity against anyone able to push the striking against him.

ah, hell, i've been a fan of nelson for years, and he has a fedoresque demeanor. i'm thinking he makes it to the top 6-7 of the division with his skillset, where we'll eventually see him against jon fitch.

I'd really like to see Santiago get his first UFC win....but I'm not sure it'll be this fight.

He does have a UFC win.. one, from 2006. But I get what your saying, They certaintly arn't taking it easy on him.

Gunni is so underrated honestly I can only think of a few guys that could beat him in the division.
