I say 2 years.
I say 1 and I don't even think they will buy the company, just bankrupt it.

I saw this coming as soon as the problems with Eddie started.

Recently Bjorn stated he doesn't want to compete with UFC, that was him trying to weasel his way out of something he started. UFC will start putting programming at the same time as Bellator, they will offer uncontracted fighters more pay to force bellator to raise their fighter prices, etc.

Bellator is at the stage where they are trying to sign guys and they just blew it all over sour grapes for Eddie. They will do the Strikeforce mistake and spend lots of money on guys that they can't afford to pay in the end. The revenue will not = what they paid out and they will eventually fold. I imagine this Eddie situation is costing them a pretty penny in Court. I look for UFC to start targeting them and suing them any chance they get.

Bellator should have kept their current path, doing their tournaments, maintaining good relationships with fighters and not screwing with UFC. They would have been great.

Well, wonder what company is going to be the new #2 in the US now?

I think Bellator will be around for a while. I'm not saying that it will thrive, but there's too much $$$ behind it to just get bought up or fold after a tough season. They aren't making the same mistakes that Strikeforce did. I acknowledge that their tournament format and lack of championship fights is problematic, but they have Thursday night to themselves, and I think they'll establish an audience on Spike.

Bellator was totally bluffing with the PPV bullshit that came out at the injunction hearing. They run a tight business model, which will ensure their longevity. And ultimately, even they know that Alvarez won't be fighting for them, which means they won't bleed themselves dry overpaying for fighter services. They're just making a calculated effort to drive up the price for Zuffa.

UFC has right to match Rampage's next offer - Mixed Martial Arts News

"I said before the fight and I'll say it again after. [Jackson] needs to work for people who can make him happy. I feel like we've done everything in our power for Rampage to make him happy. If there's somebody out there who can treat him better than we have, that's awesome [but] I do have the right to match."

Bellator's treatment of Tyson Nam and Jonathan Brookins was pretty shitty. Not a fan of the way they treat their underneath guys.

Sidenote, I REALLY don't see Viacom ever selling their ownership of Bellator to ZUFFA as long as they can have MMA programming on their channel without having to pay the UFC(especially considering how they left things).

Bellator has publically stated they are interested in Rampage. I assume this was the reason behind Dana's statement.

Seems only fitting that this gets resolved via trade--Alvarez for Jackson, straight up.

If Michael Chandler had dreams of fighting in the UFC, they're pretty much on life support right now. Unless he's willing to sit out for an extensive amount of time. I think Bellator will look to extend him (if they haven't done so already) but with even more restrictions on contract matching, etc.

Shots fired.

lol at everyone saying bellator is done in a year... as much as what they are doing is shady as fuck... with the backing of viacom, bellator isnt going anywhere as long as they keep producing decent ratings. Its pretty clear that they are still pissed at the ufc for jumping ship to head to fox. Plus now that spike cant show anymore ufc they gotta get ratings from somewhere else... i mean bellator hasnt taking the same routes as any of the other morons like affliction, the IFL, elite xc... or the latest WSOF, wich will be gone before bellator guaranteed. this really isnt that bad, and like dana said, viacom is pouring money into mma now. that coould only mean good things for our sport.

With Viacom in their pocket, Bellator isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Viacom isn't Showtime/cbs(?), they have oodles and oodles of cash to throw at this promotion.
