If that happened I'd have GSP-Ellenberger and Silva-Weidman.

Only problem with that is, what if the number 2 guy continually cleans out the division but gets beat by the champ multiple times? What if Chael stays at middleweight? Does he just keep getting cracks at Anderson?

This is a pay per view driven business. Champs share in a percentage of that revenue, so I get why Anderson was holding out for a bigger name than Wiedman and frankly don't blame him.

I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's what's gonna happen.

Haha if that happened, I can't even think of a clever analogy for the rage I would feel.

Realistically that will never be a problem. The guy that loses the title fight will have to win at least 2-3 fights to reclaim the #1 contender ranking. So if a guy worked his way up to his first title fight (5 wins at least realistically for a first shot), gets his ass kicked , works his way back up (2 super tough fights or 3/4 pretty impressive ones), gets his ass kicked again (repeat), by the time all this has happened roughly 6 years have gone by. What are the odds that the champ doesn't get knocked off by anybody else AND the same guy keeps working his way up only to lose to the same champ?

The problem is hardcore fans will push for Silva to fight whomever the next best wrestler nevermind the fact that there is another mw champion in the same weight class that some feel lost creditbility when he switched organizations.

Weidman makes me nervous because I know his plan will be to smother fuck Silva until a UD. He won't have a choice.

I just want the champ to face whoever the #1 contender is when the champ is healthy enough to fight, that goes for every champ. The #1 contender at middleweight is Chris Weidman so that is who I want the middleweight champ to fight.

What do you mean when you say he has no choice?

The Odds are not very good for anyone NOT named Anderson Silva. but with Silva this becomes a realistic problem. I can see where hardcore fans are coming from, but title shots have always been "discretionary" in the UFC. There is no real structure, so it behooves champions to put in their 2 cents if they want the most lucrative and interesting fights. It's up to Dana White and the UFC to decide who the champ will ultimately fight. And last I checked Dana White really fucking likes money....so Weidman should fight one more Big name and if he can destroy that opponent, then I would throw my support behind him getting a shot. But right now there are more interesting fights out there.

I agree with everything you said except the Weidman needing one more fight part. Unfortunately I hate the stuff that I do agree with.
