Bellator fight announcements: Curran vs. Straus, Marcus Davis debuts, King Mo returns, more - Bloody Elbow

Quote:
February 14 - Middleweight tournament quarterfinals

The four quarterfinal fights in the Middleweight tournament take place this week. On one side of the bracket is Brian Rogers vs. Dan Cramer and Brett Cooper vs. Norman Paraisy. On the other side, you have Andreas Spang vs. Doug Marshall and Mikkel Parlo vs. Sultan Aliev. A Bantamweight title fight between Marcos Galvao and Eduardo Dantas headlines.

February 21 - King Mo Lawal vs. Emanuel Newton

This is a Light Heavyweight tournament semifinal. Winner will move on to face either Mikhail Zayats or Jacob Noe. Mo looked quite good in his quarterfinal fight, and is the easy favorite to win not only this fight, but the entire tournament. He's also a huge part of the Bellator on Spike push, so another big win here is important. Headlining this show is the delayed season 7 Featherweight final between Shahbulat Shamhalaev and Rad Martinez. Also included are the Welterweight semifinals, with Ben Saunders vs. Raul Amaya, and Douglas Lima vs. Bryan Baker, as Baker steps in for an injured Brent Weedman.

March 21 - Marcus Davis debuts, plus Welterweight finals

Longtime MMA veteran Marcus Davis makes his Bellator debut on this card. No opponent is yet announced. The show takes place in Davis's home state of Maine, which should make for a great crowd. Davis is 4-1 since leaving the UFC two years ago. The card will also feature the Bellator debut of English kickboxer Michael Page, and the finals of this season's Welterweight tournament.

April 4 - Pat Curran vs. Daniel Straus

The season closes with Pat Curran defending his Featherweight title for the 2nd time this season. He takes on season 6 tournament winner Daniel Straus. Curran's last fight was a technical stand-up battle with Patricio Pitbull that launched the Bellator Spike season. He's undefeated at 5-0 since making the move to Featherweight, and looks to continue to establish himself as one of the top 145 pound fighters in the world here. Also on the card is Lyman Good vs. Dante Rivera, Jessica Eye vs. Munah Holland, and Tom DeBlass vs. Carlos Brooks.
