I'm pretty sure "in line" does not mean "next person to fight for the title". Time to find out what Mousassi has for the big stage. I'm going to predict he doesn't do well in his UFC run, starting off by losing to Goose.

I think Dana is still a bit upset about Hendo not disclosing his knee injury and Machida not taking the fight with Jones on short notice. He's very fond of telling fighters not to pass up title shots because you never know what's going to happen down the line. This is Dana putting his money where his mouth is.
It's interesting to me that he's announcing this now though, it sure takes a lot of shimmer off UFC 157 knowing the Hendo/Machida fight isn't for the #1 contender spot.
How long before Pashak enters this thread and goes on a rant about what a terrible person Dana is?

Pretty funny how people bash fighters who legally use TRT but when it comes to Hendo it's ok because he's old. Little bit of a double standard.

Hey admins, there should be some sort of ban on TRT talk.. It's seriously fucking boring reading people whine about TRT in 75% of threads out there.
Personally I am against TRT but i'm so done with hearing everyone argue about it

I think it's good for the UFC to have two guys at a time lined up for a title shot. With the way the last year has gone, somebody is bound to break something in the gym. Hendo get's the shot with a win over Machida. If he breaks his old man hip and has to pull out again BOOM throw Goose into the fight. Or vice versa. Makes perfect sense to me.

Hendo should and will get his shot first if he beats Machida... Im sure the UFC will do it that way, even if Dana doesnt like Dan... He knows that Dan can sell... Money is the only thing that comes before Dana's ego...
that being said. Machida deserves to be the favorite, most people have him winning...
So I have no problem with Goose getting his shot, should Lyoto win... Machida is Jones' biggest threat at LHW, but I still dont give him a good shot. I dont want to see Lyoto get beatdown like that again...
Let Jones get a fresh challenge.... Although again, Machida is a bigger name than Goose, so who knows what the UFC will do.

I wonder if they would fight each other.
Have Glover fight the Winner of Goose/Mousasi(if Machida/Hendo get next title shot) or Phil Davis.

If Hendo was the #1contender to fight Jones but only was sidelined due to an injury... why is Hendo not given the fight against Jones again if he beats another top lhw while Jones faces Sonnen?? Where is the UFCs logic in this?
