I have to disagree with this. I don't know how to call the striking on this one...perhaps Belcher has a bit more tools but as much as I can't stand Bisping he does have some crisp striking. However where I disagree is the grappling. Belcher I think is a far better grappler. Bisping has nice gnp no doubt but Belcher subbed Paul Harris...that must be a testament to his abilities.

Okami can manhandle 90% of the middle weight division. I think alans problem in that fight was that he went for submission attempts that landed him on his back.. he lost 2 rounds because he went for that damn guillotine (and okami is probably one of the hardest guys to submit.) If alan doesnt try to play the bottom game against bisping, i think he will win. Should be a good fight though.

Huh...whaddyaknow lol. Thanks, totally gapped on that one. Still as I recall he was on the ground with him a lot and I stick by that as a testament to his grappling. Now that you have pointed out my glaring mistake I am wondering if I recall this fight properly at all.

bisping should beat belcher in my opinion. i think he's good enough on the feet to avoid belcher's big punches and he's savvy enough on the ground not to get submitted. i think the count wins a UD on this one. if not, his days as a top mw in the UFC are over i think.

Bisping is a very smart fighter going for a dec, but haven't seen the finisher side of him ever legally.lol.

Bisping pokes belcher in the eye "by accident", then coasts to a decision while belcher blinks and squints.

I read this whole thing as smoke and mirrors. He doesn't want Belcher to prepare for a tactical fight, since tactics seem to be a weakness in his preparation--judging from the mismanagement of the Okami bout.

Alan has a much better variety and hits harder, but he's not as accurate as Bisping, and he doesn't take as good angles.

I've always thought Belcher was a stronger grappler than a striker, and I've got him lightyears ahead of Pip in that department.

Bisping doesn't have Okami's top game. I don't know that anyone does at MW, maybe sonnen.

I do think that Belcher wants the fight on the ground, I just hope he doesn't pull guard so ineffectively this time.

I agree...I think their striking is about even, in different areas. But I think Bisping is the more effective defensive, peck-and-run points fighter, overall, and uses his length better.

I hope Belcher has a better plan than rewatching HOSS's repop gif of the Hendo KO over and over again.

But I'll be amazed if Bisping comes to brawl, or even engage in the pocket for very long.
