Successful, yes. Brilliant, no. | Damn! Couldn't agree more man.
Cheap sells, and like you said there are infinite examples. Honey booboo sells but I wouldn't call it great TV.

Do you honestly think Honey Boo Boo or Phat Ass Kim are behind their 'stardom'? Nope, I bet all created through major networks and marketed down the masses throats (which I guess one could say the same about Sonnen - but to a much less extend I think).
Either way, I get the point you gents are making.. I just think the comparisons are are a bit off. Is there any other major sporting athlete who has been able to talk themselves into opportunities Chael has?

i think he is certainly brilliant with his PR. Hes done exactly what he needed too to get him where he wants to be. Sure the other fame (money laundering, test levels etc) brought him attention, but it seems any attention, in this case he has made some haters, turnedout too be good attention. If you only wanna see him get smashed, buy the ppv, but i like hearing what he has to say. He sounds educated, he presents himself well. At least you can make out when he says, imagine if they had rampage doing these positions? (i like rampage but i couldnt make out a fucking word he said in the ateam) So maybe brilliant isnt the best word, but i dont think it is far off.

No one can deny that his PR has opened many doors for him.
I can't think of another athlete that has done what he has. But I think a great example of what I would consider great PR in the UFC would be Wanderlei Silva. Wanderlei always refers to his fans as his friends and that guy could lose his next 20 fights and his legion of fans would still be buying the ppv and talking about what if the Pride Wanderlei shows up (me included). Now I know that a lot of that comes from what he does in the ring, but I think he was great with PR as well, like his famous push on Rampage or the "I'm gonna fuck Chuck" incident, overall he was always a very likeable character, and even though he is way past his prime he is still the main event on his next card.

“First off, I admire Dana on many levels. But for me, this is his crowning moment, both as a leader, but also with his integrity.
| Wow he just got to a whole different level with his trolling.
Dana White having integrity, hahaha, that was a good one.

I was glad to hear Dana say what he did... I dont say that often...
While we cannot just assume that everyone who is on TRT is abusing it, it also isnt fair to give them that much trust, in a highly competitive combat sport like MMA...
Iv always worried about guys using high amounts of testosterone during their camps, where they get all of their work done, then just coming in at allowable levels come fight time.
Glad to see this.... I hope they did it for the Hendo/Machida bout as well.

Dana White, Watson, and media outlets say that several fighters abuse TRT. However, when I thought back on incidents involving well-known fighters that use TRT like Sonnen, Marquardt, and Belfort, their levels were elevated slightly, at most. I don't remember any report that proved a fighter abused testosterone. Belfort's use is most recent and it was controversial, but still no one proved he abused, as far as I know.
Did I miss a story or am I correct in thinking there are no proven cases of TRT abuse?

That would depend on your definition of abuse.
My definition of TRT abuse would be anyone who didn't receive a TUE prior to fighting. Yours may be people using more than prescribed. I guess it's relative.

Did I miss a story or am I correct in thinking there are no proven cases of TRT abuse? | I assume it was not from traditional TRT but AO's levels were through the roof, what was it? 16:1 or some shit.
