The UFC is within their rights to cut him but as a fan of Fitch I'm disappointed in their decision. With the amount of cards the UFC is pumping out, with the whirlwind of injuries the UFC suffered last summer, it seems odd to cut such an elite fighter. We've got Court McGee vs. Josh Neer on the main card of tonight's pay per view and the UFC feels they don't require the services of a guy like Jon Fitch? I don't get it.
In my opinion he's a pay per view quality fighter with name value. Name value based on a very successful UFC career that boosts the profile of any show he's on. Name value that gives his opponents credibility. Johny Hendricks can thank Fitch for putting him on the map. Maia is now considered a true threat at welterweight because of the value of beating him.
I hope Viacom and Bellator open up their wallet for him but I can't help but believe he belongs in the UFC.

@BjornRebney said he won't be signing jon fitsch to @BellatorMMA... Makes fitsch's destination unknown. @SugarRaySefo are you interested?
Ray Sefo Ray Sefo @SugarRaySefo
It's a done deal my friend!!
CLARIFICATION: Apparently the site removed the word "not" from Cat's post as it says "not" in the actual link... (Some kind of crazy word trimmer??) The article says that Bellator isn't interested in Fitch.
