"The Axe Murderer" Against "The Wild Beast" At 7/1 OWGP Card?

What's the point in calling a grand prix when they give byes to the next round?

I know Silva & Fedor were injured for the first round, but it's BS to let them in the GP half way through. They should have title matches on the card instead.

I don't like the bye thing either, but at least we got Silva in the 2nd round now instead of Fedor. Gives everyone else a little bit more of a chance. I think Nog takes it now. See who they match him up with though. These last few rounds should be very good. I'm glad they aren't putting Yoshida vs Fujita just to have a Japanese fighter get in the semi's.

I think Silva/Fujita would be an awesome fight, and I'm gonna get made fun of for this but I wouldn't be shocked if Fujita won that one. Silva could submit him, but I don't see him knocking him out (obviously) and Fujita should be able to take him down if he wants.

I agree with ya on that one.. I think Fujita is one of the Up and comming fighters.. Hes Highly underrated.. that MAN IS BAD AS FUCK

Does anyone know the fights for the second round yet?

I hope its:

Hunt Vs Yoshida
Crocop Vs Zentsov
Werdum Vs Barnett
Fujita Vs Minotauro

But I heard Wanderlei is in as a bye, so has someone pulled out or does Zentsov's match with Yvel count because it was an alternate fight?

In which case CROCOP Vs SILVA please!!!!!!!!

NinjaShogunRua 05-24-2006 01:32 PM

I wouldn't really call Fujita an "up and comer" he is about 35 and has been fighting since 2000. He is definitely a solid vet though and a threat to anyway he faces in the ring.

Wand brings in more money than Zenstov which knocks Zenstov out of the tourney. Fedor pulled out so Wand got his bye. There are no set matches yet for the 2nd round. You can vote for who you want to see at PrideOfficial.com. Pride takes fan votes seriously, they want to put together the matches that the people want to see(most of the time anyway). The voting is in japanese, but it is pretty basic to figure out, they have pictures of the fighters and everything.

I hope it's something like:

Nog-Barnett
Hunt-Fujita
CroCop-Silva
Yoshida-Werdum

NinjaShogunRua 05-24-2006 02:13 PM

I voted for Nog vs Werdum, Hunt vs Fujita, Wand vs Barnett, Yoshida vs Cro Cop
