First of all I want to say that silva ruled ass once again. that had to be one of the best fights I have seen with him in a while.

My real post though is not really who do you think will win but how much DID past choices of matches in the tournament and WILL the future matches greatly effect who wins the whole tournament

I think the nog/verdum was set up for a pretty decent success for nog. he can do everything better than verdum and I think many knew this before the fight and it definitely showed last night

(example with barnett)
remember fighters who continue will only fight two of the other three opponents. I think barnett has a chance with silva and CC if it goes to the ground. Even though CC could take barnett out of his game with his good takedown defense, barnett, regardless of his other losses could take the fight to the ground and tap him out and silva is just too much smaller to wrestle with barnett.

my point is that nog seems like barnett's weakness. If barnett can avoid a match with nog he may win. do you think similar situations for the other three fighters can have an effect on wether or not they win?

I like Barnett and hope he wins, but I agree that Nog will be his toughest match, even though Mirko has beaten him twice. I'm still going with Nog to win the whole thing, but anything can happen. It's a great final 4 and realistically any of these guys can win.

i have to stay with my original pick, go wand. After i found out fedor was out i picked wand and im sticking with it.

I'm pulling for Nog to take it. I'm trying not to be one dimensional, but I can't help but love the BJJ game. But then again, If you can't take them down(Wand, CroCop), you can't really use the BJJ.

i would love to see wand vs nog in the finals

I still think it depend on who nog fights. If nog is matched up with barnett in the first match of the finals he will beat barnett and silva will be able to beat CC IMO. If nog and silva go to the finals nog will have the hardest time with silva out of anybody and silva may pull the winner of the whole thing. however if the first fight of the finals nog fights CC silva will lose to barnett and nog will beat CC and barnett and win the whole tournament.
do you see what I am saying that it depends greatly on how the matches are made?
