No offense to anyone, but it really is the truth.

Well considering that UFC responded to this then I would consider this to be in the right forum consider its UFC.
Angle said that he would fight anybody whether there from a 6 side ring or 8 side....Octagon has 8 sides

There you have it that's what i was talking about, that should be the end of the conversation. Him saying 8 was just a sarcastic swing at the TNA one, nothing to do with the UFC i guarentee it.

No it was meant to be indicating UFC or MMA in genearal.
4 sided -wrestling community in WWE
6sided- wrestling community TNA
8sided- Shoot fighter from MMA community..
Basically they were just dangling the prospect in front of the fans to creat a bit of a buzz. Also were rumours going around that it would be Daniel Puder after his and Angles little match they had. LIterally it was just a way to mess with the fans but they were indicating that it could be anyone turning up for the open challenge.

This all seems over-done. I'm not sure what the WWE is trying to accomplish by saying the things they've said, and as much as I would like to see some top-tier MMA fighters demonstrate the reality of what they do against a pro-wrestler or boxer, I just don't see it happening. Like someone said earlier, the UFC has nothing to win, and everything to lose. This all seems like a lot of posturing on the part of different organizations, and on the part of some wrestlers to prove that they are not second-rate athletes.
All that being said, haven't we shown that one-dimensional fighters, be they wrestlers or boxers, just cannot hang at the top levels of MMA competition? I thought this had been decided a while ago.

It will never happen. It just more WWE/Vince bullshit. WWE is all talk and not much follow through. But if it were to happen which it wont Angle is the only WWE wrestler who could compete with a real fighter. However, not many fans truly realize how bad of shape Angle is in. His neck is totally fucked up. I mean its really bad. I actually heard about a week ago that hes going to have to take time off bc of it but im not sure how true that is. And even if he did fight somone the only thing he could really do is take them down. Yes he is a gold medalist but that was 10 years ago and like i said physically he is not well. So im not even sure how good hes mat wrestling would be today.

I'm thinking Bart Gunn from the old WWF could probably tell the rest of the "Pro" wrestlers how real even boxing is after Butterbean knocked his pathetic ass out about 10 years ago.

Octogon is a CAGE.
The only people that want to believe that's what he meant are wrestling fans and they are instigating it. I'm sure Dana didn't sit around and watch WWE say "oh shit he's talking to us", it was just some wrestling fan instigating something that wasn't meant that way. And like Anthony said read his first post and look who started this, a WRESTLING guy. Please god let this thread die now!

It wasnt said for their benefit or to issue any sort of challenge.
All it was meant to do was churn up the rumour mill of wrestling fans to keep them guessing on who was gonna show up. It worked.
