Allegedly:
DSE (owners of Pride FC) are being heavily investigated by Japanese police due to the fact that they are run by the Japanese mafia (yakuza). Fuji TV have decided to drop all DSE programmes from it's schedule due to the investigation. Fuji TV is the main sponsors of Pride & as such the revenue will dry up.
No revenue, no money to pay fighters. No fighters.

As said this is allegations at the moment, but no smoke without fire.

Incidentally NOT everything in Japan is involved with yakuza & to suggest otherwise is pathetic. Also I would say that if Pride FC folded it would be a travesty for the sport, however mma has enough bad press at the moment with the uninformed & their TV shows & it does not need this.

By the way, I posted this thread to big up Strikeforce, WEC etc. I know my views on Pride are pessemistic, but it's not all bad news.

So if that is that, i mean the allegations....then i can understand how pride can afford to pay their fighters the kind of money they do. Really sad tho, since Pride is the best organisation atm fighterwise.

It could be true that Pride is run by the yakuzans.The Yukuzans supposedly run some of the pro wrestling companies over there.
