| Lidell, Franklin and Hughes?
These guys are all GOOD fighters but are they really the best? Or are they the most marketable guys around?

I AM NOT TRYIN TO COMPARE UFC TO PRIDE FIGHTERS (but we can!)

I think they're the best UFC has to offer... Would all three be the undisputed best in Pride? Most certainly not. I think marketability has less and less to do with success after the first fight... What I mean is all the TUF guys get a cupcake for their first match, and that makes sense from a business standpoint to try to build a potential star or two... However, after the first couple matches no matter how marketable you are, you start to fight the upper tier of your weight class if you continue to win... All the marketing in the world can't help you in there. The counter argument is the SuperFights as of late (Hughes/Gracie, Ortiz/Shamrock)... Those are just moneymaking matches I'll admit, but for the most part I think that your marketability doesn't mean dick if you can't get it done in the Octagon... Will you get an easier couple matches if you're charasmatic or the fans like you? Sure. But eventually you have to fight the real deal. Hughes, Liddell and Franklin have all proved to be the best in their UFC weightclass up to this point.

It seems like all of the intelligence flies out the window when we start discussing PRIDE vs. UFC for the 8 millionth time.
That being said, I think they are all good fighters. Greatness is a little harder to define. Don't we usually judge greatness after the fact, later in their respective careers? And before I get jumped on, I'm not saying any of them are not great, just that everything looks different when you look back on it.

I think their records and who they have beaten says it all. They are the best guys in their respective weightclasses in the UFC as of right now. Can they be beaten? Sure. I think all 3 will be UFC HoFers some day. Especially Hughes and Liddell. Franklin still needs some more big wins.

Hughes would beat anyone Pride has to offer and is one of the best ,but not the best b/c I think GSP is going to beat him and Penn could beat him too.and if Hughes ever fought Karo I'd take Karo.So Hughes is one of the best he's proven this time and time again.Rich is good ,but not the best Shamrock,Tanner, and the crow all had chances to defeate Rich ,but were unable to capitalize on Rich's mistakes ,but there's a lot of fighters that would've been able to capitalize.Chuck is the best at LHW right now.If he went to Pride Tommorow I think we'd see him have a lot more sucess over there than he had last time.

kenflo how can you put him as being one of the best hes good ok ill give you that but hes not that good i like him but he kinda pissed me off at tuf finale against stout yes he did fight the smart fight and take stout down and tap him out but i just got tired of hearing all his interviews of him saying he was going to impredd the world and stout with his improved muay thai and stand up and the kid doesnt even through a punch on the feet imediately takes him down i mean smart fight but dont talk it if your not gonna prove it. chuck i think is the best lhw out there i agree with killer that if he went to pride he would do extremely well hughes i think could beat anyone over there as well franklin may have a tougher time and whether it be arlovski or sylvia as champ preferably arlovski because he is actually a good all around fighter i think would have some trouble competing with the heavyweights especially fedor but hey thats jus my two cents
